I thought surely you doesn't mean Rex Grossman then I realized they were going to start Connor Shaw. Terry Bradshaw at 60 with shingles is a better QB. But they are already out of the playoffs, might as well see if Shaw has anything. But apparently Grossman has his whole family over for the holidays, so playing in a football game would be a big inconvenience for him. Despite the fact he's a FA QB likely to never get another chance to start in the NFL.
Saw Karlos Dansby called out Manziel(and 1st rounder Justin Gilbert) for "wasting their rookie years". He kinda went in on them and challenged them to be better. The very next day Manziel is fined by the Browns for showing up late to treatment this guy.

Lions made a go of it against Green Bay, but winning at Lambeau was always too much to ask so not surprising they lost. We're good this season....just not great. Going to Dallas, even with their home record, is a tough one though...it wouldn't be totally unexpected to see them defy that record and still beat us.

Re: NFL Thread
No reason for Harbaugh not to have been the Niners coach for the next twenty years. Absurd decision to get ride of a man that go the team to 3 NFC games and a superbowl in just his first three years.
JJ Watt became the first player in history to record multiple 20+ sack seasons. Unreal player. Absolutely dominant and it still won't be enough to get MVP smh.
No playoffs for us this season but we improved immensly with BOB. Qb is still our biggest issue, we had four different starting quarterbacks and none seemed like the answer. Mallet was the closest to looking like a competent qb but we won't be able to see until next year if we resign him.
Our secondary had a great year and I hope we can keep the same group for next year. We might need a corner if we get rid of Jospeh, if he stays then a safety in the later rounds will suffice.
This might have been AJ's last year as Texan if he chooses not to reconstruct his contract but even if he stays I think our first round pick should be a receiver. Parker/White/Greene are all great players for the future and if this season is anything to go by they will contribute greatly in their first year. We also need to reinforce our o-line. The pass protection was inconsistent throughout the year. I love foster but he is so injury prone. I doubt we can get anything of value for an aging rb no matter how good he is but if we could then I'd definitely consider it.
I'm optimistic for next year. Our rookies didn't perform well at all, but it will be a new start for them. BOB had a great first year, he made some big mistakes that cost us, but those are the type of things that help a coach improve. I can't wait for next year.

Re: NFL Thread
FSU got absolutely ruined on social media...almost as bad as Oregon ruined them on the field
Feel a tiny bit sorry for them personally.
Awful proud of Michigan State's win over Baylor though. Showed some real fight to get back into that game. Bryce Petty was having his way with the defense.

Re: NFL Thread
FSU had a hell of a run. Their team was nowhere near as good as last year; lost a ton of weapons, OL, D-line.. Yet they still kept winning. I think last years FSU would beat the Ducks. Oregons not 39 points better than this years team but that's what happens when you turn the ball over 5x to a quick hitting big play offense.
Also pretty classless of some of the Oregon players at the end with the mocking "no means no" chant. Real rich coming from that university:
http://thebiglead.com/2014/05/05/oregons-damyean-dotson-not-participating-with-team-following-forcible-rape-investigation/
http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.ssf/2014/09/report_oregon_officials_waited.html
I remember Brandon Austin from Providence where he got accused of sexual assault there. Oregon admitted him anyway and, surprise, he did it again.
edit: As a Jets fan this was a good result. Winston had a couple bad TOs that could let him drop to 6. Even with that, he still made some great NFL caliber throws, threw for more yards and overall is a better pocket QB prospect than MM.
I honestly don't know what to make of Mariota on the next level but I tend to think he will end up being pretty good.

Re: NFL Thread
As a Lions fan, I would have honestly loved to have seen the NFL and the Lions organization stand up to Ndamakong Suh and uphold his ban for this game tomorrow against Dallas.
He knew exactly what he did to Rodgers and should be paying the price for that. Don't care if he's our best defensive player at all and if it loses us the game, then so be it. He's gotta learn that he'll get punished for doing stuff like that. Just sends the wrong message when not only the team, but the league let a player off the hook for something as thuggish as that stomp.
Whatevs though...he's back and with it we have a good chance defensively against Romo. I still think Dallas will just have one of those nights though....such is it to be a Lions fan.

Raiola is worse and never gets punishments... Tried to injure our linemen when we were in victory formation.. Lions' D-line is collectively the biggest pos collection in the NFL.

They need to act like that as well........ only way their D-Line has a chance of being effective.
More of the same on Sunday, possibly even worse.
