Post by dmize Mon Sep 05, 2011 12:47 am

I saw there was quite a few people who followed the NFL in the "What other sports/teams do you follow" thread, so I figured I'd make a thread.

Season starts this Thursday, with the Saints at the Packers Thumbs up

[Bart Scott]CANT WAIT![/Bart Scott]

Favorite team? Predictions on the season? Picks for week 1?

My picks:

New Orleans at Green Bay
Atlanta at Chicago
Cincinnati at Cleveland
Buffalo at Kansas City
Philadelphia at St. Louis
Detroit at Tampa Bay
Tennessee at Jacksonville
Pittsburgh at Baltimore
Indianapolis at Houston
NY Giants at Washington
Seattle at San Francisco
Minnesota at San Diego
Carolina at Arizona
Dallas at NY Jets
New England at Miami
Oakland at Denver

Was tempted to pick Indy but I'm going to stick with Houston. And I also picked Denver but for some reason wouldn't be surprised if Oakland beat them.

My team is the Broncos I started supporting them in late 90's when they were champs.. Yes I know "Glory Hunting" at it's finest, but I've stuck with them ever since. To be honest if it's not about Denver I could care less, and I expect an 8-8 season at max cause were still in a transition period.

I do see the Jets going over the hump in the AFC, my god how I pray they beat the bloody pulp out of the Patriots. Aren't you from CT tho, that is Patriots territory or are you closer to New York state.

Broncos have had some rough seasons since then so if you stuck with them it's safe to say you're not a glory hunter. What's your opinion of Tebow? Do you prefer Orton or him?

I'm hoping the Jets can take the AFC East this year but it will be tough again. Like Rex Ryan said someone else has to step up and beat them.

It's a mix tbh, 50% of my friends are Pats fans, 30% Giants, 15% Jets and probably 5% for others. Where I live now in CT is closer to NY, but my hometown is closer to Boston.

I drafted my Fantasy team last week. Here it is

QB Matt Schaub
RB Chris Johnson
RB Steven Jackson
WR Calvin Johnson
WR Desean Jackson
WR Dwayne Bowe
TE Owen Daniels
K Sebastian Janikowski
DEF Chicago Bears

Bench
QB Eli Manning
RB Felix Jones
WR Hines Ward
WR Lee Evans
TE Marcedes Lewis
DEF San Francisco 49ers

Got a top 2 pick and took CJ after the first dude took Peterson. I think it's pretty good, Schaub could make or break this team though. If he's average, I probably won't finish too high, but if he has a great season like 2 years ago, who knows.

Tebow played well at the end of last season even though they were garbage games, Orton is hot/cold, on/off. If I were coach Fox I would roll the dice on Tebow. We did select him in the first round. The fans are going to pressure the team into playing him, believe me. The good thing is that Tebow is extremely humble, and doesn't mind holding a clipboard and wearing a headset for now.

I used to go heavy on Fantasy Football, but I just lost interest after high school. This season is my second season not taking part in it.

Yeah, Orton is highly inconsistent. I think he lit the Jets up pretty good 2 years ago, then was horrible for the games after that. I know he's the starter now, but he's in the last year of his deal, and it doesn't look like Denver will bring him back, so at some point you may as well start Tebow(I'm not really a huge fan, but you can't deny he's a winner).

That's the game to watch in the first week along with NO vs. Green Bay. Jets/Cowboys will be good too.

I'm a Miami Dolphins fan. I hope we make it to the playoffs this season. Last season henna was a disaster,he out marshall's talent into waste. Idk about the other teams, sinc I only watch the dolphins.

I might get to watch jets at Miami during the new year vacation. Would be epic.

Rough, off to a 5 for 9 start lol. Who knew ATL would get beat down by Chicago or that Buffalo would be able to beat KC.

Jets vs Cowboys in less than an hour, can't wait.

We better not start off 0-1 like last season. Mad

Jets offense may struggle a little, especially early, but I think they win. I'm going 17-10, Jets.

Nope, but I have tickets in October for Chargers-Jets at JetLife Stadium, should be a good game.

And the Bears looked great in their first game, glad I have their Defense for fantasy, they beasted. They have a legit chance to win the division, if they can beat GB.
