NFL Thread - Page 16 Slip-on-ref-had-9-23-12

Ref throwing his hat and tripping Ogletree like a banana peel in Mario Kart. rofl rofl

And im gunna be honest as much as this is really screwing up the NFL, part of me has really enjoyed the fvckery that has ensued the past few weeks. I guess cause my team hasn't been screwed yet.

Just off the top:
-Gave Pete Carroll a 4th timeout in week 1, not realizing he was out of TOs.
-Gave Harbaugh 2 challenges in a half.
-The numerous ridiculous calls, spots, flags, non calls, etc. topped off by last night.
-One of the refs doing an Eagles game talked about how he needed McCoy to have a big game for his fantasy team before the game.
-One of the refs is from the LFL(the Lingerie Football League) :
-Another is a CFL reject deemed incompetent by them.
-Another is a middle school teacher from Idaho.
-Another is a school coach from Texas who has only ever reffed 6v6 football(lmfao).

I don't completely blame them but man I feel like I could be more accurate with a lot of these calls.

hmm After all 150-250 million was moved based on that call last night. The line was Pack 3.5, with the interception, betters would have covered but obviously they lost.

Nice. Soldier Field is probably awesome.

I'm still pissed about the Jets-Pats game. Evil or Very Mad SMH we had those dudes beat, without our 2 best players, on the road. Stephen Hill just had to catch that pass.

Even though we lost, Patriots are average as hell and won't do anything this year. Their defense is basura.

The Monday night game as awful. Neither Matt Cassel or Byron Leftwich could complete a pass. I can now fully understand the frustartion of the KC fans plus PIttsburgh is probably the worst 6-3 team ever.

Mason Crosby going through a major slump right now. A guy who I usually say "never misses!" has been now missed (I think) 6 of his last 11 FG attempts. Hopefully it's just a rough patch and he's not going to emulate Torres, because his reliable kicking has been a major help since we got him.

Can't believe we (Patriots) lost to those scrubs Laughing
Don't know what happened to them, they started 4-0 ffs.

Anyways, the two best in the AFC square off tonight, hope we will beat the Texans.

Any news on RG3's injury? looked horrible, him continuing to play was heroic, while it lasted will be so sad for him if he does not get the rookie of the year because he really deserves it imo

I think RG3 has a sprained knee, they ruled out an ACL tear which is good news.

Personally I think ROY is closer than people think. Lucks team is 9-4, he's got 6 come from behind wins(most ever for a Rookie). And the Colts aren't keeping the training wheels on him like RG3, he's throwing 50 times a game and still winning. 20% of RG3's passes are behind the line of scrimmage(most in the league), they essentially run a gimmick offense that will be found out sooner or later(they line up in a NFL modified option 75% of the time). All his throws are basic 1 read throws, where if it's not there he checks down or takes off. Granted, that's mostly on coaching, and it's been a good formula so far. Some may disagree, but I think he's a great football player, not yet a great QB/passer.

And what 3 rookies are leading their team to the playoffs? Luck, Wilson and? Kaepernick took over after like 9 games and it's not a certainty WAS makes the playoffs.

Colts have had by far the easiest schedule in the NFL so far and have only beaten one team over .500 this year.

RG3 is playing in the toughest division in the League.

Luck has a future HOF in Reggie Wayne in his arsenal and plays for a club who were a consistent playoff team until last year. I'm still adamant they tanked for Luck last year. Griffin is 5-1 when his #1 WR, Pierre Garcon is healthy.

Yeah Luck throws more and has put up some insane yardage this year but that's only because of the Colts lack of a rushing game, Griffin would be able to pad his stats too if he was allowed to throw 40 times a game.

Rg3 is clearly the ROY in my eyes, no doubt Luck will be the better player in the future though. Griffin has more upside but he won't last long if he keeps taking those hits.

Lol, a lack of rushing game is not an advantage for Luck, it's a huge negative. He's still winning with no RB and no offensive line. I don't mean an okay or bad offensive line, no they're the worst in the entire League. He's been hit far more times than any other QB in the league. Give Luck Alfred Morris and the Redskins OL and they'd be a 12 win team at this point. The Redskins are the #1 rushing team in the league...

"Griffin would be able to pad his stats too if he was allowed to throw 40 times a game"

No, no he wouldn't. Right now he doesn't even get past his first read before taking off or checking down. I can recall about 5 different plays in the MNF Giants game where he gave up on a pass play where his 2nd/3rd option was wide open. Most notably 2 plays before the fumble in Giants territory where he missed a wide open TE for about 45 yarder, where instead he decided to take off for 8 yards. He's got a ways to go as a passer. If he was forced to throw the ball 40 times he'd have just as many if not more picks than Luck.

Luck on the other hand plays in a Bruce Arians offense, pretty much the opposite of RG3's college offense. There's hardly any dink and dunks, everything is down the field. 3/4 of their passing routes are 20 yards down the field or more.

This is not even mentioning the records Luck is going to break like completions, yards, most wins for a number 1 pick. Or that he's 9-1 in one possession games or turned a 2-14 team into 9-4. RG3 has more weapons too. Garcon and Moss.. Luck has Wayne that's it. Their leading receiver for TDs is TY Hilton who no one had even heard of before this year.

Packers just wrecking the Vikings atm, not even much fun to watch.

Feel bad for them with the whole QB situation, but I'm very happy to see GB go through (although I guess I shouldn't assume anything yet).

We're doing well shutting down AP tonight. Much better than last week.

SMH @ Mike Shanahan putting RG3's career on the line just to win a divisional playoff game. What an idiot.

Never cleared by the Dr. to return after the injury in the Ravens game but Shanahan plays him anyway. He tweaks the knee again today, still not taken out even though he was limping around. Then gets another serious knee injury in the 4th.

Hopefully it aint lasting damage. RGIII is already on his way to becoming the posterboy of the NFL.

The flock of new QBs coming through is really an exciting thing for the league and will soon blow up ridiculous NFL numbers in the coming years.

Sad to see Ray Lewis play at home for the last time, but hopefully this win will give us the momentum we need for Denver next week. Extremyl tough and we go in pretty big underdogs but if the D can hold Peyton to 14-17 points, we def. got a shot.
