if he comes....he will be getting kicked to death by the likes of Baines

Also thinking about Aleksandr Hleb. The guy had amazing ball control but always came off at full time with his legs black and blue from the amount of times defenders would kick him in an attempt to stop him.
I've not watched Marin that much so I can't be certain if he has the right mentallity like Wilshere and Arshavin do; they both get kicked and physically abused on the pitch but they get up and get on with it. Hleb wasn't quite the same.

Hleb has amazing footwork....one of the best i have ever seen when it comes to dribbling.

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Despite the world and his wife being well aware that Fabregas has no intention of staying, Wenger admitted he has not yet considered who would be Arsenal's new captain.
And despite the demand for a highly-rated, experienced replacement for the Spaniard, Wenger ruled out the signing of Valencia winger Juan Mata.
He said: “We will not do [a deal for] Juan Mata. I don’t have to give a reason, we will not do it.”
Although fans are clamouring for a new centre-half, Wenger hinted the closest they may get is the return to fitness of Thomas Vermaelen.
“We will have a new centre-back by the end of the transfer window - because Vermaelen only played five games last year," he said.
“To buy just for the sake of buying, you won’t find me there. If I’m convinced the player has the qualities, I will always do it if he’s better than the players we have.
“We have specialised people to work everywhere. Everybody looks for centre-backs in the whole world. People with unlimited resources look for a centre-back.
"We are not in a supermarket where you go to a shelf and you ask 'Where are the centre-backs or the strikers?'”
Supporters waiting for more experience to be added elsewhere in the side are unlikely to be pleased.
“We have two markets: one is internal and one is external,” said Wenger. “Internal is the young players that we have - players who are inside the club are very important.
“Externally, if I’m convinced a player brings some extra qualities to the squad, we will always buy him - maybe even overpay a little bit.
“But to pay three or four times the price, you must really be convinced that this is the player you need.
"At the moment, we have not found that player.”

Ya thats true, he probably would get destroyed by the likes of stoke etc. He just seems like a player that would excell in our system.

If we dont buy, trust there will more pressure on the young kids to preform and that will not turn out well for us.
We played good yesterday but against a shity team, Wenger must be out of his mind telling people he has not find anyone yet.

Of all years for us to be targeting African players, it had to be the year of the African Cup of Nations, didn't it?

Ayew is one of the best under 23 player out there. Left forward/winger who can play upfront as well or as a no 10. you can say he is very much like mata.
He isnt weak either, quite strong for his age.

He better prove himself if he comes. The fans won't sit through a stagnant transfer window.

If Frimpong gets called up for Ghana, and of course Song goes with Cameroon, we will be pretty weak in midfield..GoonerJay29 wrote:Of all years for us to be targeting African players, it had to be the year of the African Cup of Nations, didn't it?
As for Ayew, I've heard plenty of good things about him. I wouldn't complain if we signed him.

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Who'd you think is better, Martin or Ayew? I know they are a bit different wrt position and style, but we will only go for one, not both. {Wenger is manager}
With all the speculation about Ayew, I don't feel we'll be going for him.. It sounds more like us being linked to raise his stocks.. We are very very silent till the transfer is almost done..

What about signing Gourcuff for around 15 millions to replace Nasri or Fabregas?

Watched him in the world cup...strong, quick, with decent technique.
Nothing much..if he was that good Lyon and other clubs would come calling.
I mean only Stuttgart came for him after the world cup

We are broke financially and packed with attacking players (Lisandro, Bastos, Pjanic, Briand, Gomis plus the youngsters we want to try). And not sure that Ayew would consider us as a step above Marseille. We are about the same currently if not a little behind them.
Ayew has a 13 millions clause currently.
