Meh, you just outbid us and will pay way more in comissions which we cant afford right now. Thats fine, Guler wasnt our main target for the summer anyway, it was more a case of let's send a bid and see what happens

We do need a creative mid, but Arda is a prospect for the future more than anything which would be a luxury signing.  We have more pressing issues at hand like the fact that we don't have a single proper RB and DM in the squad hmm

And lets not forget that we have some prospects coming up from La Masia aswell. Yamal for example who has a similar profile to Arda and is the highest rated prospect in the academy.

I honestly never saw the need for Guler. Arribas has been outstanding for castilla and is by far our best academy player. Left footed, can play RW or CAM, and clutch. All the same attributes as Guler.

However our club obviously sees what potential Guler has and took the jump.

Arribas is 2 or 3 years older and has been playing in 3rd level futbol. He has to go elsewhere to develop and isn’t really a kid anymore. Guier is 18 and has had a very good year in level 1 or maybe it should be considered level 2 futbol.

I think people forget Castilla is level 3 futbol. It’s next to impossible to make a jump from level 3 futbol to a top level 1 team. Take a look at Fran Garcia for example. He had to go elsewhere to develop to make club consider him and even with that he is likely backup to a horrible LB and then in a year club will bring in Davis and Fran remains a backup.

In order for the canteras to make the big team, Castilla needs to advance to next level. And that is where the dilemma lies. They need players like Arribas, etc to remain to have a chance at advancement yet it would be better for them to go elsewhere. Same thing happened a few years ago when Castilla had Morata, Jese, Denis, etc.

PSG's kids have the same issue... they play in level 4 actually (national).  But they're so dumb, they straight sold players like Nkunku, Coman, Moussa Diaby and Ghendouzi... just to name a few. They don't know how to properly contract these kids so they end up either forcing a sale or going free.

Dumbest managed team in the world despite the money.   They have the best talent in France in their youth levels yet NEVER give them a chance.  About to waste a few others too now... unless Enrique can stop them.

Kinda sucks seeing Mason Mount leave mainly because he was an academy player since the age of 6, but he left on a note that he will be forgotten by Chelsea fans. I know football is business but does legacy even matter?

Chelsea will produce more top tier players from the academy; Reece James, Levi Coilwil, and Lewis Hall are going to be great players for Chelsea for many more years.

I was surprised by the Mount sale frankly. I get all the others.

Chelsea has a net positive of €123.80m this summer despite splashing €60m on Nkunku. I get the feeling they're going to make a splash. My guess is either Neymar or.... Mbappe (if he wants Chelsea). Mbappe and Pochettino really got along. CL might be an issue though.

I think Nkunku is a better fit for Pochettino, I think Mount would have played out of position anyway.

I assumed it is only a matter of time before Mbappe signs with Madrid.

Btw what you think of Rayan Cherki? More like Hazard(Chelsea version) or Nabil Fekir?

Cherki is immature... his head isn't on straight.  Has all the talent in the world.  But he needs to act more like a professional. Fekir (pre-injury) was a beast. Cherki is nowhere at that level yet. More Fekir than Hazard imo.

Xavi is clueless lol. Fabricio Diaz is available for 8m and he wants "someone with experience"

Experience at Girona

Honestly Xavi out if this goes through, there is some resistance within the coaching staff.

He’s only 18 and just had a very good year in top team in Turkey. RMad have been tracking him since 2021. He is an AM, but has played most of his games at RW. He scored 7 goals and had 7 assists in 32 games.

Madrid’s plan was to have him in preseason with 1st team and then play with Castilla. But then Castilla lost final to advance and competition arose for his services. As a result, RMad increased their offer and now plan to either keep him with first team if he impresses as a RW or else loan him out to a first division team.

What you on about Micecats

Romeu is a Barca product, played in Spain, England, Germany and is 31. Also the oldest midfielder in Barca is like Frenkie, who is 25? Sounds logical to add some exoerience in there.

Gundogan is 32 bro

Experience means jack shit without quality. Luuk de Jong has experience. Wout Weghorst too. So what?

Gundogan brings experience because he's won many trophies and was captain of a treble team, not Romeu

I forgot about Gundogan, but obviously Romeu will be happy to be a backup and can make an impact from a smaller role, why would you even bring a 20 year old guy to be stuck behind a bunch of other young guys and waste his development.

I'm with Xavi on this one. I have no idea why are you mentioning Weghorst and Luuk de Jong as well

We have no DM currently so how would he be wasted? He would get lots of playing time and if necessary Frenkie-Gundogan could play in a double pivot but they're not DMs by default.

Not sure why Romeu is more valued as an option. He is solid for La Liga, but not for CL and will be gone in a year probably.  Romeu has very little to no experience playing in European competitions either.

Fabricio Diaz is a nice talent for 8m. In our financial situation it seems like a perfect steal. And he's almost 21 already so not too young either.

Interested to see how Mount does at Man U under Ten Haag... how would he fit into the team with Casemiro, Bruno n Eriksen already the starters? Mount is a 10 right? Does Ten Haag even have this position in his formations? Hes always been good I thought but prolly lost out due to too many stars at Chelsea, but I imagine Ten Haag will need to adjust quite a few things to fit him in... especially Bruno n Mount seems quite similar players?

I imagine the local fans are happy they got another NT player now...

I brought up Wevhorst and Luuk because those are the types of players with “experience” but not a lot of quality who end up being deadweight rather than actual net positive value added to the squad !!!! Mid table experience is nice if you compete in EL. Oh wait. So he’s perfect then.
