Bet this comes out before GTA VI

Not very exited tbh. W3 was only good because of the story (and quests), which is one of the best in rpg's ever. But now that books are done, I don't think they'll ever reach that level again. Gameplay and mechanics were outdated, scaling awful and perks pointless so it wasn't that good of a game. And because they're now using UE5 it could actually be a two steps forward, two steps back like Stalker 2. All the flack BGS gets, their aging engine is still the best in business, and I don't see this doing anything special.

Yeah I love jiopsi but he's a little bit of a hipster in that sense

do we know when Witcher 4 is most likely to premiere? End of 2025 at the earliest I suspect

I have to upgrade from my ps4 to play the game, and I'm torn between PS5 and a PC

Can't say I'll take their word for it, but I hope they're right. Cyberpunk was never as good as The Witcher 3 in my eyes, but they did eventually turn it into a good game. I hope they'll be able to replicate the quality of the side quests/hunts in The Witcher 3. Those are still in a league of their own.

Yeah I know the date hasn't been announced, im just trying to ballpark a date so that I know when I will have to be upgrading my console/pc.

We estimate that The Witcher 4 won’t be released until at least 2025 due to CD Project Red CEO Adam Kicinski mentioning that the game is “at least three years away” in 2022. However, at the time of writing, there is no confirmed Witcher 4 release date.

I think mid-2026 is a viable release date.

Some scoops regarding the game (copied from reddit)

In a recent episode of Rock I Borys podcast, Borys Nieśpielak - one of the hosts gave some details regarding current state of the game. Here some most important ones:

- all characters as well as story is already written
- vertical slice of game is ready (by this he meant playable chunk of game with all implemented mechanics)
- CDPR version of Unreal 5 Engine is slightly modified one (in podcast they said that it is much different than basic version of UE5 used in new Stalker game)
- morale in team is very positive (according to Nieśpelak suspiciously too positive)
- the feeling is much much better than before CP2077

The source of those news is one of industry veterans who is working in CDPR right now.
