Arthur is an interesting signing. His development has stunted in the last few years. It doesn’t seem like he has the physical profile or the professionalism to play for someone like Klopp.

It does make sense though. I assume he’ll be Thiago’s back up. He brings extra technical quality to Liverpool’s midfield. He’s one of the best ball retainers in the game. Liverpool lost some of that when Gini left.

Gini was way better athletically, defensively, and could attack the box. Arthur can dictate the game better than Gini does. One goes looking for the ball while the other hides. So they do have their differences. Can’t wait to see what Klopp can do with him.

Very interesting thanks. It seems like the bar is already so low that Arthur is no more than a decent body replacing members in the squad who are 17 year olds on matchday, I think this no pressure could play to this strength and development.
