Kendrick Lamar speaks on "Section.80" and the potential collaboration with J. Cole. I liked his response regarding the Wu-Tang Clan.

Starts at 2:20.

I wasn't being serious and it was more related to Cam'ron trying to an "entrepreneur" like Jay is. I was a huge Cam'ron/Dipset fan, I just know Cam'ron had/has crazy potential (Children of the Corn). Not to say he didn't have good music post 2003, but we all know he can be ridiculous with his rhyme scheme. But I like him as a rapper, I still bump his stuff every now and again.

I also don't want people to think I hate on people trying to make their money. I know it's difficult to make crazy money from rap and if you do it's not easy, e.g., touring and making a name for yourself.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

In a genre that can be tough on careers, everyone needs a way to stay relevant. It's only fair to wish someone all the success, but how they go about it is another story.

I do agree about Cam, both on his potential and his best material coming pre-2003. The Dips were everywhere back in those days, you couldn't escape it.

Don't worry, Cam didn't have me wearing pink.

I was feeling that track you posted earlier, I'm looking forward to more from Cam. How do you feel about the recent Dipset come back? Not sure how much music they've actually put out.

I remember Chiddy referenced "Diplomatic Immunity", I believe the line was: "Fell in love with samples from Diplomatic Immunity". I remember not being the most knowledgeable when it came to rap slang, but I always knew when a beat was crack. That album really impressed me, I should go give it a listen.

I enjoy Lupe's word play and creativity. It's hard to pick everything up after just one listen. I feel like I've asked you this before, but how do you rate Lupe?

Super cold and SLR are the best songs. Lupe needs to get better beats.

I rate Lupe highly. When he first came out, he was refreshing and different, plus his style and substance speaks for itself.

I remember reading that. I'd be more interested in your top 5.

Here is mine in no particular order:

DJ Premier (#1)
RZA
Havoc
Dr. Dre
Alchemist

3 HM: Just Blaze, J-Dilla, and Hi-Tek.

It's tough to only name the producers I did, as there are so many others that deserve props (guys like Clark Kent, Large Professor, and 9th Wonder). Swizz Beatz is up there too, but I find myself giving him a much longer scale compared to others. He can make some nice instrumentals, but others can sound almost unbearable.

Obviously, production is some of the most important elements in the game, producers are truly gifted. A good rapper can make an good rap, but you need a good producer to make it a GREAT rap. Great call on that 9th Wonder,

New producers are maaad dope too, Araabmuzik, Alex Da Kid, Boi-1da are dope

I forget to say what I base them on, I base them off explosiveness, nothing can compare to the chills I get from a Dre beat.

Fav beats from each of the producers I named, I will name at least one recent one :

Dre :

tough as *bleep*, the man has made so many classics I'v left out so much 10/10s

DJ Premier:

DJ Quik:

Swizzz Beatz:

Alchemist:

Havoc:
