Good stuff MT. I think my old Attitute Era thread was a little limited.
Will be sure to keep this one moving.

very good thread indeed.
dont watch wrestling anymore, just not interesting enough.
sad that many hardcore fans have to rely on attitude era and basically pre 2005 vids for entertainment.

A few 3 hour RAW episodes this month. I think tomorrow/Monday Steve Austin is revealing the tough enough winner.

So true the last wrestling I watched was Eve of Destruction, this video that has some of the greatest matches of that era. Like Mankind/Undertaker Hell in a Cell, 1999 Last Man Standing and the Steel Cage match between Stone Cold and Vince McMahon, and I think Shane vs X-Pac was on there too. I miss those days of the WWF.

The times now don't compare, but I still watch it because there are a few good talents that can go far with the right push.

Who do you think will take the contract? It's been a pretty good season I think, especially with Austin as the man in charge.mtfootball wrote:A few 3 hour RAW episodes this month. I think tomorrow/Monday Steve Austin is revealing the tough enough winner.

The best thing they ve done in a while is turn R Truth heel, but I doubt he ll beat Cena at PPV.

I'm loving Truth as a heel, especially his whole "conspiracy" act. They are really playing on the division between the fans over Cena.Grande_Milano wrote:The best thing they ve done in a while is turn R Truth heel, but I doubt he ll beat Cena at PPV.

BTW, you just reminded me of this rather epic interview from The Rock. The fans still had to cheer, despite being a heel.

Oh I feel you on Cena, his character is far beyond stale at this point. While the majority of "superstars" there are below standard, there are a few that I see real potential.jibers wrote:the wwe is a joke now, I can't stand cena or any of the other jokers o the show, I havent watched wrestling regularly since benoit won the title.
Speaking of Benoit, I really miss him and Eddie.

WWE do have superstars with potential, but at the moment they only seem to care about John Cena and Randy Orton.

Re: The Official WWE Thread
If they looked outside the box a little, they would realise the talent they have and exploit them better. I look at Rhodes for example, I think he's got great promise to go on as a serious singles wrestler. Alex Riley ditching the Miz is the best thing for him, I'm interested to see how he fares on his own too.mtfootball wrote:WWE do have superstars with potential, but at the moment they only seem to care about John Cena and Randy Orton.

Alex Riley definitely looks like a main eventer. He has the music, the looks of a main eventer and the fans were behind him too.
In terms of Rhodes I think the 'dark villain' guy gimmick is getting a bit stale and he needs a bigger storyline.

Re: The Official WWE Thread
I have the feeling his two solo gimmicks (dashing and disturbed) are just to build a response and a base for the crowd. I'd hope he switches to a more mainstream character soon and gets a genuine push. He also needs to consider wearing kneepads, he doesn't look right without them.mtfootball wrote:Alex Riley definitely looks like a main eventer. I agree on Alex Riley. His breaking out against the Miz really had me thinking he can go places. I hope they run with it and don't stall him after a few weeks in the spotlight.

I've always been big on Randy since back in his Evolution days. He really couldn't have had a greater cast around him to launch his career. The Madrid One wrote:imo randy orton, best all around performer, entertainer they have.
I'm beginning to wonder what his character is supposed to be these days. It's like a hybrid between his viper, legend killer and just a normal type.

Re: The Official WWE Thread
Viper has one serious drawback. Yes, he is a great technical wrestler with great gimmick, theme and best finisher (in history???). But, he is terrible on the mic, which earned him a nickname "BoreOrton"

Re: The Official WWE Thread
Well he isn't exactly Cena or Rock on the mic. Although that's obviously due to his gimmick.
