Re: Champions League 2020/21 | Group H
Has McTominay just fouled Neymar 3 times in a minute and still no yellow...?
Wtf is this ref on?

Probably a good thing that you’re not officiating this match, CB. Something tells me that every Man United challenge would be a red card offense in capital letters It’s been a messy first half from both sides, but I think it’s a good thing that we’re not seeing players get sent off early.

Re: Champions League 2020/21 | Group H
Look, the Fred "headbutt" wasn't much of a headbutt, but it's a clear movement of the head towards the opposing player. That's a textbook red every day of the week, and we just saw Pepe from Arsenal get one for less just a week or two ago.
This type of headbutt has been legislated to be a red because it's a clearly violent, escalating action that involves potential trauma to the head (which we in the present day are trying to keep safe, given what we know about head injuries) even if Paredes went down easily.
Neymar also playacted after an accidental stamp from McTominay, but then McTominay blatantly grabbed and pulled Neymar twice within a minute. He's a lucky boy not to receive a yellow, as a ref could easily have seen those as instigating, and neither of them were particularly plays on the ball
I'm happy this game doesn't have a red card, but all things considered, Fred should be off and McTominay should have a yellow

Re: Champions League 2020/21 | Group H
It's not a red for Fred.
If anything, Paredes should have been carded. He had no business putting his forehead on Fred's. Fred didn't actually initiate the confrontation, nor was he the one who put his head there first. When Fred move his head, it was already in full contact with Paredes. It wasn't as much a headbutt rather than a head shove.
McTominey should have been carded for repeated offenses thouh.

Very good counter attack, and then Martial misses a practically open goal from short distance

Marcus GOATford can't do anymore for this team than he already is.
I'm afraid of what Man U would be without him

I agree with your assessment. With a sprinkle of bias, you could argue that both could have been sent off, but it would be harsh, not only towards the players involved, but for the remainder of the match.

What a miss by Martial. Proven times and times again he's not a CF.

Wow, it's hard to say PSG have been lucky, since Fred should be off...but PSG have been lucky. Man U should be up 3-1. Brilliant from Cavani, but just not quite in

Cavani is such an artist. That would've been a glorious goal.
Martial on the other hand is dreadful.

Whatever united is paying cavani, it's not enough. Hes the difference maker between the two teams now. Imagine being psg and letting him go

Again, I don't really disagree that such a thing should be a yellow, right? I mean, it's so soft.
However, the current rules and interpretation of the rule is that it's a red when you have any headbutting motion that makes contact with another player, and Fred is a lucky boy this ref has given a yellow when every other situation we've ever seen like it has resulted in a red

Madrid as well. They had the chance of getting him for free, but I guess they were put off by his wages.
He would've been a great addition to our lethargic attack.

Looks like Paredes’ heel was offside, but the goal stands. Fred sent off. Good times, CB
