Re: The Outer Worlds
I never found out what’s in there since Reed and his lackeys had the locked room in their line of sight. Might just be junk for all I know. I don’t know if you still have access after he leaves since I haven’t explored the option of making him leave.

Re: The Outer Worlds
There's things in there, seeing as i killed him i had no problem opening it
But i don't remember exactly what, it was important at the time though.

- Spoiler:
- I assume you all looted «the Ol’ Reliable» from a corpse in the first area? It was my strongest weapon for quite some time. It probably would’ve been so still, if it wasn’t so expensive to upgrade/tinker with at my current level.

Re: The Outer Worlds
- Spoiler:
- So between Iconoclasts and MSI who did you guys sided with?
I heard there's an option to make peace between them if you help Zora but my game glitched out with her mission so i had to pick a side.
I went full anarchist and gave the module to Graham, kinda felt bad for Sanjar tho, i think he was the better guy.

Re: The Outer Worlds
The «Secret People» quest reminds me a lot of a certain «randon encounter» with a couple in Red Dead Redemption 2. Any of you completed this one, yet?

Re: The Outer Worlds
Fucking amazing game, i consciously refrained from looking at much previews and reviews because i knew i'd enjoy this game. Sunk about 20 hrs in now and im level 20, doing all of the side quests before the main quest.
Its a mix-mash of:
-Prey
-Fallout
-Bioshock
-Mass Effect (setting, crew, etc)
Really well done to Obsidian

Yeah, it’s a really well written game. I just wish I had more time to play it for longer periods at a time.

Re: The Outer Worlds
Have any of you gotten to the Boarst factory? I wonder how you guys went about dealing with that quest. I entered the factory through the hidden passageway, but forgot that there was a stealthy/pascifist option, so I basically just slaughtered everyone

Unique?
The more I talk to people in the game, the more I start to wonder whether or not I should be on Phineas’ side of things.

Definitely a contender for GOTY for me
Its actually a 4 way tie, at least for me.
-RE2 Remake
-Control
-A Plague Tale Innocence
-Outer Worlds
I haven't seen much of whats been said about Death Stranding

Re: The Outer Worlds
I had planned on finishing it by now, but I’ve been really busy since I bought it, and I haven’t had as much time to play it as I thought I would. Also, I’ve been doing all of the sidequests before advancing the main story.

Re: The Outer Worlds
I'm curious ES how far am i from finishing it ?
I agree with you on GOTY even if i haven't played Resi 2 yet so i have Metro Exodus and DMC 5 instead.

Re: The Outer Worlds
8.5/10 from me so far, wouldn't go as far as calling it GOTY worthy.
I reached the final quest a few days ago but realized i was severely under leveled for it, i was getting my ass handed to me on normal difficulty, i'm putting it on hold for the time being, cba grinding those side missions.

Re: The Outer Worlds
Some of the side missions are actually good, though. I don’t blame you for wanting to skip the optional content, but they’re part of the overall experience. Some of the side missions are actually good, and it’s really rewarding when they give you, or you stumble upon a special weapon while doing them. That said, I’ve been incredibly underwhelmed with some of these «special weapons» that only distinguish themselves from normal ones by having a 15% damage bonus against a specific creature, or a marginal attack speed bonus. Some of them look cool, but I’m never going to use them.

Re: The Outer Worlds
Side missions are great and not really a grind, you're missing out on basically half the game by not doing them.
I don't really understand playing an RPG and not doing side quests tbh, you're basically paying to play 60% (at best) of the game.

Re: The Outer Worlds
Also while i agree with ES on the GOTY thing, please understand how low that standard is.
Before this and control i hadn't played a good game in like 7 months as this year has been shite.
But this is genuinely great.

Resident Evil 2, Metro Exodus, DMC 5, Sekiro, Judgement and Control were all great.
This year has been decent not shit. It has not been as good as the last two years but I'd say its better than 2016, 2014, 2012.

Judgement was great? I got the impression that it wasn’t very good, based on it’s feedback on here.

Yes Control, Metro Exodus and DMC were all great but as i said there was like a 6 month gap between good games until Control.
That's not good, end of the year seems good though.

Finished it a couple days ago. Really enjoyable game. I'm not sure it blew me away in ways other games of this type have, but it was a lot of fun to play nonetheless. Obsidian did excellent work here.

Re: The Outer Worlds
That's fair M99 but i haven't played it, i can only really speak to what i've played.
Don't get me wrong i've enjoyed what i've played but i haven't played a lot compared to previous years.

I might've missed your more optimistic comments regarding the game then. All I remember reading is that the side-missions were repetitive and tedious.

Finished it, i loved the game. It's more Mass Effect than Fallout imo.
Don't read until you've finished

Re: The Outer Worlds
I really wish I could play the game more often, but I’ve been frustratingly busy ever since I bought it. I’ve stayed up until late at night while playing it on some days, and then I’ve been a sleep deprived zombie at work. I used to do that a lot in my late teens and early twenties for various reasons, but I genuinely feel like shit when I do it nowadays
I might play the game over with a douchebag run and a melee build, once I’ve finished it. I’m a sneaky diplomat with long guns right now. Only controversial decision I’ve made was not siding with Sanjar. I just felt he was too naïve. I want to make a science focused build and use the hammer that deals damage in all of the elements - more of a rugby build than the sneaky sniper that I currently am.
