Ridiculous
Especially because it has my first double digit upventus post that I can remember.
Hall of fame worthy imo.

If anything Madrid fans are the only ones on GL talking about Liverpool having an easy pass.

I wasn’t referring specifically to this thread. We seen ManU, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham fans all go on and on about how great their teams are / were and yet they all tumble when they face a Good European team. Now I suspect we are going to see the same with Pool fans.

Why would we want Liverpool with our defense?
Roma sure. I feel much better about Bayern than Liverpool.

I would take Bayern over Liverpool IF Pep was still their manager. But Bayern with Heynckes is a whole different beast.
I was really hoping to get Roma after the PSG - Juventus mega-marathon. But between Liverpool and Bayern I really have no preference. They're both tough, especially in a two-legged tie.

Re: Liverpool's road to final
Laugh as much you like, but Liverpool would have been more comfortable against teams like Madrid or Munich.
Roma is like us; what they lack in quality/number or stardom, they make-up with sheer passion (on the pitch and on the stands) backed-up by shrewd tactics. Like us, they wear their hearts (and lungs) on their sleeves.
If anything, the tie promises to be the most exhilarating and scintillating games of the competition. Sadly, one of them will bow out. So while it lasts, enjoy the wonderful game that football is.

You may share the same passion for the game; but aside from that you're nothing like Roma.
They're the perfect portrayal of what an underdog is: relatively small budget, modest European history and a passion that could break through steel like lava.
Liverpool on the other hand is a 5-time European champion with a seasoned worldwide respected coach, a hefty budget and a player who has been tearing new holes in the PL since the beginning of the season.
What I'm trying to say here is that anything can happen in football and Roma could beat you. But on paper, let's not pretend you're equal because you're not. Liverpool are the favorites for this tie.

Re: Liverpool's road to final
Past history goes out of the window in ties like this and the squad are pretty evenly matched. So there's no favorite. The Demon of Carthage wrote:iftikhar wrote:Roma is like us; what they lack in quality/number or stardom, they make-up with sheer passion (on the pitch and on the stands) backed-up by shrewd tactics. Also, my post is intended at appreciating what Roma has achieved. They deserve every bit of praise and I'm rather annoyed at the thread/title.
