Has any team ever gotten such an easy road to the CL final?

Roma-->Wolfsburg-->City

That means Real Madrid could be in the final without playing any of the top 5 teams in Europe. Without playing a team that had ever made it to the CL final. Without playing a team that is even currently in the title race in their league.

I'm not suggesting a conspiracy and it is possible City will win, but even Madrid fans must admit this is the easiest road to the final in recent memory.

Last month City and PSG were so much better than us.

Now we're having it too easy.

No team has even had an easy road to winning a CL title. If you can't beat all teams it doesn't matter.

And yes to win the CL you'll have to beat either Bayern or Atleti which will be tough, but your road to the final is not tough at all. Barca/Bayern/Juve would all have killed for it.

It's an easy road alright but still City are better the team and will win, but Atletico and Bayern are better than City true.

We played champions of Ligue 1 already in CL and finished first in the group with out conceding a single goal.

We played the second best team Serie A can offer and defeated them.

We played second best team Germany can offer and defeated them.

We are playing the best team EPL can offer in CL.

What are we supposed to do? pump money into serie A so that it will become a decent league? or give players for free to EPL teams and give tactical coaching to them so that they will be decent? Make bundesfodders great again?

At the end of the day they're going to face a team that has surpassed bigger challenges to get there (Bayern or Atleti) so they will still have to win over a proven champion, even if the route there has been the easiest in memory.

napoli are 2nd best and lol at wolfsburg 2nd best, they're coming 8th

its absolutely fault of the laughable league's like Serie A and Bundesliga and EPL that most of the top teams are getting no tough competition at all.

No, the harder route you get, the harder it is to keep going. You verse harder teams, it takes more out of the players for the next game unlike the team that gets the easy team, they will be more fresh.

Last i checked, Roma and wolfsburg finished second in their respective leagues.

true they did, good thing chelsea are out, they would be really tough to beat in the CL this season too based on current form.

They did that, that was last year and thats why they were in the CL. This season Napoli and Dortmund are the second best teams Serie A and Budnesliga can offer, which is why they will be in the CL next year.

I disagree, completely. The harder the route, the more hard-bitten and tough you become. Whereas the easier the route is, the more complacent and soft you get.

Besides, it doesn't matter how easy the route to the final is because if you want to win the CL, you have to beat a tough team. And we can all agree that it doesn't get any tougher than Atlético or Bayern.

Pointless thread, no disrespect to the person who created it. You may get lucky with the road to the final, but sooner or later, you'll have to beat the best to win it.

To be fair I didn't account for many things. AS Roma resides in the city Rome, beacon of western civilization in the past and birthplace of an all conquering empire. The sheer historical drive behind their players makes beating them a title in itself. An epithet should be appended to the club badge. "Real Madrid: Conquerors of Rome".

Exactly. If you struggle against Roma and Wolfsburg, you sure as hell will struggle and may lose against City.

City is actually pretty evenly matched team.

Bayern may have only played one more tough match than Madrid if both reached the finals so i dont get this crying. Seems more like some people are scared their predictions are going to get bumped hard.
