I concur with Freeza, the 5th round is one of the best rounds i have ever seen.

The mix of emotion in that round. I cheered and then Vladimir rose from the dead

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Yup. His joint interview with Joshua was amazing. He basically said that if Joshua wins, he will congratulate him but if Joshua loses then he will help him get back and teach him how to improve further.

mandatory rematch? Wlad can 100% beat him, want to see him have another crack before retirement

Not just that, there's way another heavyweight fight will be half as interesting.

That uppercut was amazing, ridiculous thing is it didn't put Wlad down.

How many myths about Wlad were dispelled tonight? No chin, doesn't recover well, no heart etc..

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Yep lol.
That 5th round recovery is one of the best i have ever seen, to the point i thought he'd recover in the 11th too.
My only negative with Wlad is i wish he would sit in on his punches a little more often, he showed tonight that when he wants he can get some real power behind them.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Still can't get over how good this fight was. AJ isn't all that young, but he still seems younger. He has a lot to learn. Not as skilled a boxer as he can be. But he has improved so much the last 3-4 years. Amazing recovery from both fighters yesterday.
AJ needs to lose some bulk imo. His legs are just too big. They seem way too heavy for a boxer. He looks like a weightlifter

Very young in boxer fights though.
Turning 28 this year and only has 19 professional fights under his belt.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Am i the only one who doesn't care in the slightest btw?
Forget the fact it's embarassing, just the mere fact MMA guys standup is disgustingly simplified compared to boxers forget about the best of his era.
Just to use an example when Jon Jones had Tyson come in and watch him train he would absolutely school him lmao.
50+ year old Tyson was constantly setting up one of the greatest MMA fighters ever 3 punches ahead.
It's going to be embarassing, Floyd will knock him out if he wants to.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
This lol
Biggest thing that annoys me in conversations is how many people think MMA fighters (The ones who box anyway) are pro boxers with an added ground game.
Their stand up is shit compared to any legit boxers, because well boxers train... boxing much more often. Nevermind *bleep* Mayweather the guy who won what 49/49?

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Boxing isn't all physicality, its also about mentality and how you approach matches, Mcgregor knows how to get under his opponent's skin, he knows how to make a good set up for him. Floyd undeestimating this will be his downfall, Mcgregor is just as resilient if not more

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
They should make it 2 rounds: one boxing match and one MMA fight. This way they make more money which is clearly the main reason for this to even happen.
Floyd to knock him out first round. Just like a jiu jitsu master would destroy Floyd within 30 seconds in an octogon.
I never watch MMA as boxing is more my thing but 10000% i will watch this. Definetly betting a hunnid on a 1st round knock out.

if only GGG was willing to step 1 or 2 categories down only for one match vs Mayweather
This would be the real Fight Of The Century.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
what a farce this will be
McGregor was getting outboxed in large parts of the Diaz fights ffs
Easy payday for both (this will just increase McGregor's exposure, nobody is expecting him to win), I'll watch it for the freakshow aspect though
