GGG just walks forward and takes a few hard shots to give a few hard shots. If he did that with Eubank and benn then punches don't bounce off his chin.jibers wrote:Unique wrote:A young Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn would have took GGG to school

Kell Brook: He didn't hit as hard as I expected but I broke my eye socket in the second from a punch and I was seeing 3 of him.

Triple G wasn't fazed at any point in the fight. He literally couldn't care less how many times brook was hitting him. Brook knew in round 1 that he has no chance.

It's a shame GGG hasn't faced a world class champion to see how he performs. There is just no one around at the min.

GGG vs Canelo is the only real test for GGG. Rest are nowhere near him.
@Izzy it was a strategic fight for Brook. He will get a lot of interest now. Probably knew he had no chance

And that is something that I don't respect RG. Similar to what Khan did with Canelo.
You don't get credit for going up in weight and losing when YOU KNOW you don't really have a chance AND you aren't even established as the best in your division.
Not feeling that.

Yea unfortunately money dominates all. That's why GGG is so respected. He is down to earth and loves boxing more than money. He basically said he will fight anyone.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Khan had a legit chance with canelo had he stepped in better shape. Easily outboxed canelo before the KO. Canelo is a one trick counter puncher and has never faced someone with the fitness and monster power of GGG.
I want to see brook vs canelo.

You are clueless. Stick to football. GGG has taken hits from 160 power hitters on the chin and shrugged them off. Triple g's footwork, balance, fitness and jab accuracy and technique is the best in the world

Didn't look like triple g gave 100%. still impressed with brooks technical skill. He has a very good chance of beating Canelo at 154

Khan had no chance against Canelo, regardless of what shape he was in because his flaws are still so apparent that no weight would have helped him.
In that fight against Canelo, he was so predictable. Started the first two rounds like he always does, throwing flurries, move around the ring and throw reckless flurries. By the 3rd round, Canelo had begun to time Khan and began to land effective body punches which slowed Khan down considerably, (just like the Garcia fight) and allowed Canelo to begin to find his range and land his jab.
Rounds 4 and 5 was basically a trap game by Canelo. Get Khan to keep throwing his stupid flurries while I tire him him out with body punches and find my range with the jab.
The KO, look at it. Canelo threw a little tap to the body and instead of Khan realizing this, he tried to push his hand away with both of his and left himself wide open for that haymaker right.
Canelo is a very intelligent boxer. People like to ignore his skills and smarts because of his punching power. He would have beat Brook comfortably.

I agree with everything you said. It's not that I underrate Canelo although I'm not a fan, I just think khan has unbelievable speed and technical talent. Even after he got rocked in the body by Canelo, he was still faster. Well, I don't agree on your criticism on khans style. He is a flashy boxer, and yes 30 lbs is an incredible difference
I don't think so. Brook took some absolute monsters from GGG. Who hits harder then Canelo.

But giving Khan an extra 30lbs would reduce his speed tremendously. He's never boxed at that weight, let alone trained at it. It would slow down his movement around the ring and what would he be left with?
He doesn't have a steady jab.
His footwork is atrocious.
He can't manage range.
He doesn't know how to set up traps.
Can't counter punch.
Struggles to see overhand rights and lefts.
Still can't effectively defend.
Canelo has already fought someone much more skilled than Brook in Lara and Floyd. Brook tried to control the distance against GGG with the jab and set up some power shots like his right hook and uppercut knowing GGG doesn't really move his head and would continue to come forward.
Canelo doesn't fight like that at all. He wouldn't allow Brook to establish the jab and try to control distance.
His fight with Cotto is a perfect example of how he would approach Brook.

Some good fights coming in Nov. Loma vs Walters and Ward vs Kovalev are both high quality fights. Then Pac comes back, so i guess that's something.
