Adrian "I did it for the hood" Broner
No words to describe how dumb he is
Jacobs vs Canelo is going to be interesting. I think a lot of people are underrating jacobs, he is a fighter who is constantly improving. That inside fighting is gonna be a problem for Canelo.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Wilder doesnt need to fight AJ now. I knew he wasnt on his level when he got gassed by Grandpa Klitschko. Now he got gassed and beat silly by literally a gy who looks like somebodys drunk dad.
He'll never recover from this. His brand in America is done.
Better here before he REALLY got embarrassed by the Bronze Bomber though. Shame on the missed paycheck though.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
The Bronze bomber got embarrassed enough by Fury until the last round knockdown.
He should’ve lost that fight but good old boxing corruption stepped in.
Clear Fury is the best in the division

Not surprised Joshua finally lost.
Flat-footed
Average boxing IQ
No defence
And simply lost to a more skilled boxer.
Tyson Fury is by far the better one anyway.
Congratulations to Ruiz.

Please look at the Gypsy King's performance from last night. Those Neo the Matrix moves to avoid his opponent's punches were more impressive than his offense

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
So there has been some rumbling about #MayPac2 after Pacquiao put in one of his best displays in a while last weekend.
In addition to the news that Pacquiao hurt his right rotator cuff three weeks before the Mayweather fight, Freddy Roach also came out and said that before the fight Las Vegas officials refused to give Pacquiao a painkiller injection for this problem but Mayweather received that injection for his hands, which is obviously unfair.
Furthermore, Freddy said Pacquiao has been a bit stale in his approach to fighting since he started taking his religion seriously again. He would rather fight to win on points than push more aggressively throughout the rounds. But he said since he lost to Horn very controversially on points, he has got Pacquiao to become a bit more aggressive again.
So could this all excuse Pac's performance in his fight against Mayweather, and would a rematch between thess two be worth it in which we can see Pacman being 100% healthy and more aggressive?

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
I am assuming no one caught the Kovalev-Yarde match that just happened in Russia.
Incredible match even if Kovi fundementally outboxed and overpowered a young Yarde with the KO being in the 11th.
Kovi is such an entertaining figure in how he is within the ring and the drama that seems to circle him outside and how it shows on his face, yet managed at his twilight age to pull off another magnificent victory straight after his rematch win against Alvarez.
Speaking of, Canelo is most likely the next match as Kovalev clearly is choosing the payday rightfully so to which I see as his last match then something else.
I love Canelo but like he waited for GGG decline he clearly targeted Kovalev for the same and knows the Russian's weakness are body shots (to which is Canelo's main strength in punches as displayed against Rocky Fielding) and Sergei's weakness for those shots were even on display tonight with his dominant victory against Yarde.
Buddy McGirt his new trainer has done wonders for Kovalev but I do not see him surviving vs a prime Canelo despite some left in the tank just not enough against the Mexican, as Kovalev mentally has not been the same since his Ward saga.
Yarde on the other hand has a great future and will definitely be amongst the best British fighters in the coming years if he switches or makes adjustments in training camp and actually spars opponent. A lot of talent.
Either way a true boxing legend and I hope he escapes with that inevitable fight with his pride.
But in the end boxing is a prizefighting game not for pride.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
I caught it. Still jet lagged from being in California/Japan, but I also must agree with you it was an entertaining match.
Kovalev would do well to stay far away from Canelo though. He's clearly on the decline even if he had the skills to put away Yarde today.
Its been a rough couple of weeks for British Boxing. Dont let Otto do the unthinkable against Fury in 2 weeks

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
A prime Kovalev could well and truly take on Canelo even at the latter at his current stage as like GGG people mistake the bully in him for lacking fight IQ compared to others but that is severely not the case.
McGirt has done well to streamline Kovalev and his conditioning in general but the sole problem that really is going against Kovalev against Canelo is once again, those body shots that Canelo excels at and that Kovi absolutely hates.
I cannot see Fury falling to Otto after what he did to his previous opponent. Fury like Canelo is at that unstoppable point and unbeaten aside, Otto is untested.
