Rollercoaster of an experience, recommended to everyone.

Good news, Ill watch it soon. One question, Does it have a lot of gore? Because then its just a psychopath rather than a nice clean invisible entity.

No gore. It's a very funny satire. The real horror is how real it feels.

Go see it.

I think the fact that it turned out to be Ferngully with fantastical visuals really hurt it with a lot of people. It's a great popcorn flick if you put aside the political tone it presents. I personally enjoyed it entirely.

It's funny how Avatar is so hated by people in the internet. Meanwhile every review and rating site has amazing ratings for it.

Seems like people just want to hate something that made a lot of money to feel superior (not saying that's why Firenze dislikes it) but it ended up becoming so mainstream to hate it in the internet community.

Overall I think it's one of the most revolutionary films ever made. Both good and bad. The story is very much an homage to a lot of previous films, books etc. I'd say the story is basically an archetype. Pocahontas, Ferngully, Last Mohican, Last Samurai, Dances with Wolves.

Basically showing someone from a technologically superior culture getting indoctrinated into a primitive culture in regards to technology and sees the beauty of the nature. Wouldn't call the story a rip off. Pretty sure Cameron wrote Avatar, or the general story etc, like 40 years ago or something and just waited for the technology to catch up.

I just don't think anyone should doubt that Cameron will make something worth seeing. This is a guy who has a blank check because he's the most profitable directors ever.

Personally I can't wait to see what he does with these films. The delay is probably mainly due to all films being filmed at once.

Been quite a lot of time since I watched se7en but i was just thinking about it now. Man that film's ending was so so amazing. The film itself is so brilliant. Eventhough you can probably see it coming, it still leaves you speechless. The execution and the acting and the atmosphere. It all built up to probably one of the most iconic scenes in cinema history. Might watch it again in a year or two.

Definitely Fincher's best film.

Martin Scorsese is eyeing a project that would reunite him with two of his greatest collaborators: Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio. The creative team is circling an adaptation of David Grann‘s Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI scripted by Munich and Curious Case of Benjamin Button screenwriter Eric Roth.

I don't really like Avatar too much as a film and haven't watched it since I saw it in theaters.

That being said, it was an incredible experience in theaters and remains one of my favorite theater experiences of all time. I feel I've said this before, but it was a phenomenon. Everybody was talking about it when it came out and I had to see it, and it did not disappoint.

Visually stunning, but the script and acting let it down a bit for me, probably why I haven't seen it since.

Have you seen Prisoners, Sicario yet? Ex Machina?

Winters Bone isn't really that suspenseful necessarily but is a very underrated movie and should I think, not go over the heads of a lot of the good patrons of this forum. Does get suspenseful near the end

Watched Prisoners and Sicario. Not sure if I'll like Ex Machina, the sci fi stuff puts me off.

I think I've watched pretty much every movie from the genre/style that I usually enjoy.
