Can won't be sold or let go without Klopp's approval. If he's sold it means Klopp wanted him sold.
I frankly don't care either way. He's a productive squad player right now with potential to get better. And at the same time he's not some irreplaceable piece that I will lose sleep over if he were sold.

Can is awful and our team has performed better without him in almost every way. He needs to be sold.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 || Klopp Revolution back with a Vengeance
No disagreement that Can has been inconsistent most of the season and was displaced from the the team on merit in most instances. However, since coming back into the team he's been greatly improved. Against Leicester, Arsenal and Burnley, he's shown signs of being the player we hoped for following last season. (Could his form be related to the supposed injury he struggled with early in the season...? It's quite possible.) Granted he did not start well against Burnley (no one did, really). However, he was not at fault for their goal, and he was able to turn it around and win the match for us.
Personally, I'd be inclined to play Can in Klopp's self-described #6 position, even if Henderson is fit:
First of all, his passing range is superior to Henderson's. (Remember, passing range is more than spraying lobbed cross-field balls to switch the play.) Can is more inclined to play the incisive pass, breaking lines, rather than shuffling the ball from side to side in front of the defense. This behavior is something that has drawn a significant amount of criticism when playing against low-block teams, and it begins with the controlling midfielder.
Secondly, he shields the defense better and has a bit of a nasty streak in him. Henderson has done well with his defensive duties since moving deeper, but he still looks like a B2B filling in at DM at times. He tends to get sucked toward the ball at times and makes a show of running to close down the inevitable switch in play to an open player/free runner. Can is generally better at reading the play and staying in position (perhaps a result of his time at CB/FB). In addition, when play comes down the center, he's generally capable of breaking it up, or at least making a tactical foul to impede their progress. (Unlike Lucas, these generally occur somewhere around the center circle, rather than just outside our box.) Just look at his tackle on Alexis in the Arsenal match. He's well beaten, but simply brings him down instead of watching him traipse through our defense.
Now, I'll be the first to admit that I was tempted to sell him in the summer following his early season performances. When I first saw the reports of a stalled contract negotiation and Juventus' interest, I was in favor of letting him walk and bringing in a more specialist DM/Regista/#6. However, now that he's supposedly past his recurring calf issues, he's looked like the player we wanted him to be following last season. If that player is fit and available, he needs to play. Moreover, if that player's contract is due, we need to sort it out... and fast.
I realize not everyone will share my opinion on Can, but I do think Klopp does based upon his comments on the matter. My guess is that he will ensure this gets sorted well before offers would be entertained for Emre's services. I think Can, when fit, is precisely the type of midfielder that Klopp wants: tall, strong, technically sound, and versatile. I mentioned my desire to bring in a specialist for the deep CM position earlier. However, I don't think Klopp would do it. He tends to favor more all-rounders in midfield, even in his time with Dortmund. His players tend to be defined by the areas in which they play, rather than a specific skill-set, and Emre fits this description to a T.

He won us 2 points last game. And he performed very well second half. And there have been some other games this season when we've performed very well with him starting.
Don't exaggerate.

I don't think he's improved at all. The goal he scored against Burnley overshadows the fact that he had an absolutely shocking game. He literally finished with less than 70% passing accuracy from one of the most important positions on the pitch to be economical with the ball. He is constantly making stupid fouls and missing men, making bad tackles, etc.

I think giving away silly fouls is his main problem tbh.Curtinho wrote:I don't think he's improved at all. Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 || Klopp Revolution back with a Vengeance
I've seen reported in various places that we're sniffing around RB Leipzig's Timo Werner.
If I remember correctly, we were looking at him in previous windows as well, prior to his move to Leipzig.
While I've made my admiration for Alexandre Lacazette well known here, I actually think Werner may fit what we need more than the French striker for predominantly one reason: Werner has played both as a Wide Forward and as a Striker.
Why is this important? Klopp has shown that he loves a versatile player in his front three. This is not simply because he wishes to use them in multiple roles, but he want's them to move, interchange, and be fluid in their positions within a game. With Werner having played several positions for Stuttgart and now Leipzip, he's capable of starting across the front line. Moreover, he's capable of drifting between positions within the match. Because he starts centrally does not mean that he will stay there. In some situations, he will pull wide to allow let's say Firmino to come central and dictate play.
I would imagine this versatility is precisely what Klopp what Klopp wants in a forward. I could see this being a great move for the club if it comes to fruition.

Can will be great for us in coming years and he will grow even more under Klopp.
I really hope Klopp will be able to land all the players that he wants. That will it make the next season real interesting.

I wonder how many of those are possible. All the rumored players are pretty high profile. Even if we have to pay (a bit) over the top, we must get some proven players if we are to survive.

What we need in the next transfer window is a good manager. The one we have is a fraud.

Need:
A CB: Lovren needs to be on the bench.
A DM: Someone beside Henderson to control the midfield. Authentic B2B who can handle attacks alone, Not as good as Masch but someone who has similar style. Henderson will have the duties ahead of the half line.
A ST: Sturridge is crock, Firmino isn't a striker, Origi will always remain a baby, Ings might be working part time in a hospital already or about to sit for his MBBS exams.
New formation:
Out:
Manninger
Lucas
Moreno
Randall
Stewart
Sturridge
Ings
Would not mind seeing the back of: Lovren, Can, Wilson, Klavan.

1. Wouldn't mind keeping Ings for another season.
2. Would prefer an authentic LB
3. Need ADEQUATE cover too. This season has shown how a season can unravel in the absence of proper cover.

Its a work in progress. You can't sign 10 players in one window. We needed 2 of both the season before and now we need only 1. (Do not bring up the defense again please)

well we wont be buying a goal keeper for the next 10 years. that's why we should have signed a good one.Nishankly wrote:Unique wrote:klopp has signed 2 goal keepers and we need a goal keeper. klopp has signed 2 centre backs and we badly need a centre back. klopp has signed a CM and we badly need a good CM. mane was a great signing though.

GK isn't our biggest problem, not anymore. Mig is pretty good and I expect Loris to be better next season. What we really need is a good CB partnership and good defensive organization.Unique wrote:well we wont be buying a goal keeper for the next 10 years. that's why we should have signed a good one.Nishankly wrote:Unique wrote:klopp has signed 2 goal keepers and we need a goal keeper. klopp has signed 2 centre backs and we badly need a centre back. klopp has signed a CM and we badly need a good CM. mane was a great signing though.

I'm quite sure that's going to include Matip and not going to include Can or Lucas. So lets just wait for the next signings and allow Klopp to form his team rather than working and finiding solutions with players that Dalglish or Rodgers bought.

If we spend anything over 30m over Van Dijk I will cry.
We already have a defender just as good on loan to Crystal *bleep* Palace. Both Klopp and Sakho need to man the *bleep* up, apologise, make up, do whatever, and stop *bleep* around. I'm sick of overpaying for overrated defenders from mid-table clubs. Yeah, I said it. Fight me.
In other news, we apparently signed some Brazilian from Gremio for 23m pounds called Luan. He apparently plays like Rivaldo from what Gremio are saying, and Inter fans (Gremio's biggest rivals) actually rate him. Reports coming from Brazil.

I think he is out for 6 months now anyway so forget about him. and I said it before and I say it again our poor defending is not down to having poor defenders its down to the way we set up as a team.Red Alert wrote:If we spend anything over 30m over Van Dijk I will cry.

Jurgen Klopp‘s first signing of the summer looks set to be the addition of a new physio to his backroom staff, recruiting Christopher Rohrbeck from former club Mainz.
this is good news we need as much help with injuries as we can get.
