I don't get why top teams would sign these 9.5's knowing fully well they are really only at their best behind the CF, and you don't get half the impact from them by playing them as wingers or CM's.
It's mind boggling.
Bosz played Havertz as CM along with Brandt and it was Havertz breakout season.
The position argument is misleading. The right argument is role and expectations.
Havertz wasn't ready to be main man at a big club and he isn't the player to give the impression he's running things, which was always going to hurt him in an England that never understood what was Özil about even after season on season of top chance creation.
He should have joined Bayern next summer as Müller understudy. That would have been best.

Havertz finally coming into his own under Tuchel. I had said so and expected that he will come eventually good but will be interesting if he can continue in the long term at Chelsea.

Looking very impressive atm, he is playing really great football. His best position is CF and that was determined last season, another reason Lukaku signing didn’t make sense.

Evolution of his position is quite impressive.
Now playing as left back for Germany
First time I saw him he played as a holding midfielder for Leverkusen, then he was more of an attacking midfielder, then he went to Chelsea and became a striker, then he went to Arsenal and started playing as a central midfielder, now he's a defender.
