Marin the German Giovinco? Chelsea buying a player based of youth hype.....
If its true i dont think its wise, they could find alot better......
Not saying Marin is'nt talented because he is but he has never proved at any stage that he has the mental capabilities to go along with his talent to fullfill his potential.

tbh Marin is the biggest flop of our young talents until now. He was superb at Gladbach, but he became worse at Werder since his change ~2years ago.
Most time he was benched. And i can't believe he changes to the EPL, i mean he can't even stay on his feet in the Bundesliga.

Re: Marin to Chelsea fix
Bremen are a useless team, finally Marin will get to prove his worth, intelligent move by Chelsea, although I feel Liverpool should have made this move.
Marin will shine..

Re: Marin to Chelsea fix
WTF Marin in the EPL? WHY?
He's the perfect La Liga player, he'll get both his shins broken in his first EPL match FFS.
Hahaha.
Glad for the little lad that he got a big move, though, always loved his style.

Yh there's that too...... i dont think he's mentally good enough has played into this too and made him flop....
No question of his talent but as we all know you need more than talent to succeed at the top level....
Interesting none the less, i also wonder who from Chelsea sanctioned this proposed move if its true

Re: Marin to Chelsea fix
Seriously, I love the skinny midget, and I think he can potentially be a great player, but Chelsea is the worst club I can imagine for him, especially now that they're set for hoofball.
Could link up great with Mata in theory, but come on, he'll never get that chance.
I really hope he succeeds, but he indeed is a hot candidate for Flop of the Season, IMHO. :X

We'll see about that, the EPL is over-rated, it is not as physical as Bundesliga.
Marin will shine there, he'll beat those defenders easily, he'll definitely out play Walcott and the rest of them lots

Re: Marin to Chelsea fix
EPL being overrated has nothing to do with physicality, and the refs are WAY more lenient with physical fouls in the EPL than they are in Bundesliga, Marin will get even less penalties and fouls called in his favour.
Bremen are also a side that potentially suited him well, despite them imploding over the past 2 seasons.
Chelsea is not a great club for the lovable Hobbit, in fact the EPL is the entirely wrong league, I really wished for a La Liga move for him...

Re: Marin to Chelsea fix
It's on Chelsea's website, too:
http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2752630,00.html
Interesting signing. Marin has the ability, but whether or not he'll be able to adjust to the Premier League and the pressure of playing for Chelsea is a completely different matter.
Can't do much wrong for 8mil euros, though.

Well...that's you opinion.
But that's not what me, Marin and all Chelsea staff thinks.
I think he'll make it in Chelsea and Chelsea definitely need a young lad like him, especially since they lack player with flair, they had Wright Philips some years back and Marin will definitely do better than Wright Philips.
The price suggest that he'll only be a rotational player, a role that I assume he has already accepted and I hope and wish him all the best to succeed in Chelsea, that's all I can say.
I can't wish for him to be a flop and bad mouth him

I should point out that people were saying the same for Juan Mata and David Silva - that they were too lightweight to be a success in the Premier League.
The Premier League is a physical league, in as much that it's played at a high tempo, but the perception that it's full of robust, ruby-like tackles is a mistaken one.

Also, apparently Romelu Lukaku is going to Werder Bremen on loan for next season as part of the deal.

I don't want to rain on Chelseas parade, I WANT Marin to succeed, he's one of my favorite players.
But have you seen the guy? Mata is built like a f*cking tank compared to him. He makes Silva look like Hulk, and not just the footballer, probably the comic character as well.
I do hope you're right though, Marin is still a great player, hugely underrated, and if played to his strengths really can make the difference. I still think it was one of Löws cardinal errors to pick Trowochswki ahead of him at the WC, and Marin will still go places.
I just really hope that Chelski change their style as well, or Marin will really lack the possession and partners for short-passing he just needs.

Re: Marin to Chelsea fix
Viva i said at some point he makes Silva look like Drogba, glad you agree lol.
Ofcourse he's talented thats without question, my question mark over him has been his mental attributes and application is my question mark and always been my question mark.
Alot like Giovinco, who also struggles for the same reason and i just have the nagging feeling that he doesnt have the mental capabilities to succeed at the top level.
I actually hope iam wrong because i like him as a player.

Re: Marin to Chelsea fix
More talented than Giovinco to further your point.
He compliments Mata well.I'm not gonna lie I'm a bit biased because he just has that natural talent you don't wanna go to waste but he needs a brain transplant.
Regardless of all that he's better than all Chelsea's wingers and the currrent PL defenders will have no idea how to deal with him.

Gio was twice the player Marin was in his youth, its too bad italian teams wont play young players otherwise i think he would of turned into a star imho, he has 'natural talent' by the truck load. Gio terrorised Chelsea in the CL with the few minuits he got too and scored a few goals along the way at his time with Juventus.
Juventus couldnt properly let him grow at the time due to many un-related factors but i can say he was more talented and Marin and probably still is, hes showing glimpses of what can be at Parma. Currently has 12 goals and 10 assists in Serie A.
I personally hope he comes back to Juve.
