Liverpool Flopping

Lost both semi EFL cup legs 0:1 against Southampton.
Played 0:0 against lower division side Plymouth, only to barely make a 1:0 in the replay.
Lost at home to Swansea
Losing comprehensively 0:2 at home against Championship side Wolverhampton.

Liverpool are in shambles. They don't create anything without Mané. Their defense is a joke. They are performing just terribly on the whole.

This is a veritable crisis and their whole season is going down the drain. In this state, there's no way they make top 4.

Klopp is flopping. He needs to step it up ASAP.

Can't see a last-minute jinx that poor working out well, sorry.

Nah, Will worry if we lose the games after Chelsea.

We finished like 11th last year mate, Top 4 was always the ambition for majority of us.

5 games out of the 7 are cup games so they can basically *bleep* off.

Not worried at all.

Liverpool will beat Chelsea tho.

without being able to vent his frustrations and call out Klopp during this no doubt frustrating period I seriously worry about the well being of Unique's relatives and local minorities tbh. Unban him ffs.

and yes Pool have looked dreadful without Mane, I love it.

Flopping? nah just regressing to the mean after performing well above their actual level for the first half of the season.

Just like the likes of Wigan, Leicester, Stoke, West Ham and Watford before them.

How is Liverpool flopping? We are a midtable team that has been constantly overachieving.

Liverpool are massively over-performing in EPL as they don't have CHL - Huge advantage, same with Chelsea!

Otherwise they would be at 6-7th position!

Hull and Leicester are awful. They won't lose points there. Then again, the same was said of Swansea.

Not seeing the big deal. They've slipped out of a couple Mickey mouse competitions and lost an EPL game against Swansea. No crisis yet. That's not a big deal really.

Even if we disregard the cup exits, we have won a grand total of TWO points from our THREE league games in January. Two of the opponents are mired in relegation battle.

Then, who are we to ignore cups??? For a team that won (possibly) two cups in last 10 years along with regularly finishing outside CL places, we can't ignore any chances of silverware.

Finally, it's not the results but the performances that irks me most. It's obvious we don't have any attacking plan outside a certain combination of players while our defense always leaky with whatever combination of players.

Silverware
Domestic cups are irrelvant to the club. They deliver little money and hardly raise your club profile.

A fan might care but a manager has to deliver what the club asks of him not what the fans want.

Since when is the FA Cup a mickey mouse cup, you people can be really selective when it comes to your darling managers

Bet you if Pep wins the FA Cup, it won't be a nothing cup anymore.

Klopp *bleep* up, this was the only competition he can win this season.

I've always said the same about domestic cups. They are nice to add on the other success but that's it.

One of Klopp's strengths (for example compared to Rodgers) is that he's a big game and a cup coach.
That's why this season's exits are very, very dissapointing. They didn't happen due to great opposition, they happened due to repeated poor performances.
This is a huge failure on Klopp's part IMO.

FA Cup is most definitely a Mickey mouse cup even if Pep wins it. Come on Urban.

They have, indeed, only won one in their last eight in all comps:

Sunderland 2 - 2 Liverpool (PL)

Plymouth 0 - 1 Liverpool (FA Cup replay)
Manchester United 1 - 1 Liverpool (PL)
Liverpool 2 - 3 Swansea (PL)
Liverpool 0 - 1 Southampton (EFL Cup)
Liverpool 1 - 2 Wolves (FA Cup)

You can dismiss the cup games as insignificant, but needing two games to get past a League 2 team and getting dumped out by a midtable PL team and a Championship team should be concerning for Liverpool. Not only does it show a lack of depth in the squad to handle straightforward cup ties against lower league opposition, but it also damages confidence in the squad. And what should also be concerning is the decline in their attack and how easy it's been for teams to defend against them now.

As for the league, though, I wouldn't say Klopp is flopping yet. Realistically Liverpool's target is finishing in the top four and they're still set to accomplish that. January has been a blip but with Mane coming back and Coutinho getting fitter they should find form again soon.
