Being Liverpool
Being: Liverpool, Fox Sports' behind-the-scenes documentary about Liverpool FC, is in the running to win a Sports Emmy Award at a ceremony in New York.
The programme, which aired on Channel 5, has been shortlisted in the category for outstanding editing. It is also a finalist in the Sports Media Awards category for Documentary Series, New Sports Show and Sports Series.
The six-part series followed the start to Liverpool's Premier League campaign up until the transfer window closing. It coincided with the appointment of manager Brendan Rodgers and was narrated by Golden Globe-winning actor and Reds fan Clive Owen.
Fox Sport's Michael Bloom, who commissioned the show, said: "It's a great honour for us to be nominated alongside such distinguished programming and it's a tribute to our production team's talent as well as the incredible trust Liverpool put in us.
"From start to finish it was an exhilarating experience. Being as close to the action and characters as it was all unfolding was amazing. We did what no-one had really done before."
The behind-the-scenes access brought team-talks from inside the dressing room, tactical discussions on the training ground, and a look inside the homes of Luis Suarez, Steven Gerrard, Lucas Leiva and Pepe Reina.
The 34th Annual Sports Emmy Awards takes place on 7 May 2012 at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Lincoln Center in New York.

Emmy >> CL
At least we'll have a chance at a trophy at the end of the season.

Re: Being Liverpool
And it's not just one category, it's 4 categories

If we win all 4, we'll have more Emmy's than United have Cl's, than City have leagues and same amount as Chelsea's league titles

The award goes to Fox Sports, not the subject of the emmy awards...

Re: Being Liverpool
Exactly Liverpool are not getting the award.
When you say we do you mean Madrid or liverpool because it can get really confusing when it comes to supporting 2 team.

1. will often choose a big club which is guaranteed of years at the top bracket of clubs
2. have no connection to the club
3. foreign to the country and city of the club
4. will overuse club mottos (which makes it more evident)
5. never been to many games (if not any)
6. will never go many games ever
7. will use the excuse of geography to not go to games
8. have limited merchandise before the successful years (most likely none)
9. does not know the history, chants or culture of the club
10. always in the armchair during matchdays
11. uses the talk of tactics and transfers to compensate for the lack of all round knowledge of the club (history and culture of the clubs, attendance of games, lack of knowledge or care factor about the direction of the club off field etc.)
12. will not be effected by football tragedies as much as locals
13. will often be the most biased towards to compensate for the glory hunter status
14. will show more hate for other clubs to compensate for their glory hunter status
15. have a club in their own country, don't have the guts to support them
16. will never talk about the years before the club started to become successful
17. at games (if attended) will be the quiet ones who never chant or make a noise

Re: Being Liverpool
why? that show was just a 6 hour long Liverpool promotion, let's talk about Liverpool show.
I wanted to see something that would actually show the training, what the players do on and off the pitch, etc.- it was just an advertisement for Liverpool.

Re: Being Liverpool
A lot of LFC fans found that show to be cringe worthy.(based on rawk).
Anyways, LFc won't get the award. It will go to the network behind the show.

Re: Being Liverpool
This documentary wasn't so much for the Liverpool fans as for the would-be fans of the club. Especially in North America. I don't think any hardcore LFC fan would be praising this document, but hopefully it has enchanced Liverpool's global appeal a tiny bit.
This nomination (and especially if the show wins it) is just a piece of welcome PR.

Re: Being Liverpool
Being Liverpool is/was an awesome documentary from what I've seen so far
The timing has been sort of poor though, so I haven't gotten to see the rest of it yet, but hopefully I'll be able to catch up soon
I think I was like 4 episodes in when I sort of fell off it
