Looks a bit different. Maybe one of those feel good films. Adam Driver looks brilliant though.

BAFTA will also remove the requirement that newly admitted voters be recommended by two existing members.
Pretty bold move on their part. Especially considering how noninclusive other art forms in the UK are(Theater).
I like the reasoning around this, but it's way too aggressive. Studios are either going to find ways around it or will just ignore it outright.
If things are going to change, I think it needs to happen organically. Can't be forced. The studios need a real incentive and there is none yet.

Wow yea. Ruth Negga is gem. But I still prefer my Persian princess. Its not just her flawless physical appearance, but her entire personality that is so beautiful n distinct. She's one of the kindest and most down to earth celebrities I have seen, plus ofcourse theres the acting bit. An exception (considering how much fake and superficial all other female actors are these days). A keeper.
You seen Patience Stone ? An acting Tour de Force by Golshifteh, dat movie.

Agree with McLewis.
I was actually surprised when I read that headline.
If it works out at the end, it can only be a good thing. Of course there'll be a few problems along the way.

Re: The Movie House - Part 9
It's getting mixed reviews. Seems like a good film to watch on TV rather than cinema. Let's see if ratings improve in the next week or so.

A Dune film Surely there will be multiple parts?

There already is one
David Lynch disowned it though
I don't know if it's going to be. Don't know if it's economically feasible. I'm always for longer or more movies, so I wouldn't mind.

Re: The Movie House - Part 9
Something inside told me Live By Night and Passengers would be flops.
Can't care for the other two.
Just waiting for La La Land and Manchester By the Sea now to see who challenges Arrival for top spot. Oh and actually need to rewatch the only film I gave 5/5 this year to see how legit that is because I still can't believe it that film being Civil War.

Re: The Movie House - Part 9
Are there any movies out there where the suspense is constant/consistent throughout? Been watching a lot of suspense thrillers recently that have slow filler scenes with no tension.
Looking for movies like No Escape, Phone Booth, Don't Breathe and The Game.

Don't know why you're comparing The game to that Schlock.
Maybe you should watch I Saw The Devil

I can see why La La Land is rated so highly. But for the life of me I can't seem to get interested in it.

Picking movies for him is impossible really.
MT watch Dredd if you haven't. Easier to find the intense thing your looking for in action thrillers than pure thrillers. Dredd and the two The Raid movies are both intense through the entire thing.

Re: The Movie House - Part 9
Seen Raid and Devil suggested a lot, only thing putting me off atm is that they aren't in English. I'll watch them eventually though.
But yeh, mainly looking for tense movies with pulse pounding suspense from start to finish. Minimal slow filler scenes.
I think the recurring theme of what I usually like is when a character is in danger, has to escape or survive etc. The plot has to be intense throughout. With Rear Window there were too many relaxed scenes and sub plots imo.
