Re: SF: France Vs Germany
For me who suffered through the most unfair loss of all time against Germany in WC 1982 semis... I honestly don't care if people feel that Germany was better.
Honestly, I think that people equate possession to being better. That's false. It's how dangerous the teams are. France had a ton more dangerous chances than German until 2-0. At that point, we parked the bus of course. We could have gone for more goals. But we didn't need to.

Don't worry Hans, that isn't reflective of how everyone feels.
Germany were unlucky today, where did their firepower go? What happened to the team that put 7 against Brazil two years ago basically to the day?
Ozil, Kroos, Khedira, Hummels, Boateng, Neuer are pure quality.
Hold your head up Hans

Dat Pogbinho trick on Mustafi , dat cross , dat ball going through Neuer legs ........ what else a anti-arrogance fan can ask for?

Hans... this was one of 3 real games in this Euro: Germany v Italy, Italy v Spain and France v Germany. Tactically and individually, those games were top shelf.
I hope France and Germany get to play full strength in the future. Both teams were missing a ton of top players. But that's football I guess.

Germany lost when Low decided to play that Man U scrub today. What a joke of a manager.

Thanks Luca. As for Brazil, that was a perfect storm, and we'll never again face a team in the semi that will collaps as compehensively as Brazil did.
It's no coincidence we couldn't score today tbh, we didn't have a single proper striker and, as I said in the Germany NT before, our quasi-striker Müller is in a slump of epic proportions.
Funnily, a Müller who is in the singularly worst form of his career is still better than regular Götze.
Götze
France are clinical and ruthless, and have top quality players, their team is better than their coach and setup is IMO, they overcame the weak setup and congrats to them.

Re: SF: France Vs Germany
Germany reminded me of Arsenal tonight. One of those games where they have so much possession, can't quite create enough chances, bottle the ones they have, give up a penalty and end up losing.

Agree. But IMO it was better than the two other games, too.
Reminded me of Bayern-Juve first leg.

Re: SF: France Vs Germany
Hans... our CBs are very very shaky. So are Evra and Sagna against pace. Deschamps sets up like that to protect them.
When we had Varane and Lass back there, our fullbacks attacked a lot more because Lass read the game very well and Varane has incredible pace to erase danger.
It's a question of compensating for the flaws of your current squad. Germany would have blown us up if we played recklessly.
Btw, Payet is back down to earth. He had a really really poor game.

Agreed, I was really surprised to see a double pivot and Kante on the bench for France against Germany's midfield of all teams.
The penalty really bailed them out in the first half, in the second half France was much better and Germany just struggled to create many clear cut chances until it was already 2-0 and late into the game.
Germany certainly didn't look like two goal losers but the defending on the second goal does not belong in the sport at any level.

With Hummels being ut, after Boateng went off you could see how much our play relies on our CBs being playmakers, too.
The forward players were constantly waiting on build up impulses to come from defense, but Höwedes and Mustafi are not used to doing this, and the other players looked puzzled.
Boateng has become one of the most important players both for Bayern and Germany.

Re: SF: France Vs Germany
Boateng and those hollywood cross field balls is really annoying to watch. Hummels at least mixes it up but Boateng just gets on your nerves with his wannabe Alonso moments

Re: SF: France Vs Germany
surprised but not surprised. Only seen short highlights so can't tell but reading through the thread it seems like it was an even match.
Schweinsteiger is finished so not surprised he flopped.
Heard Koscielny was a beast once again. Easily one of the best CBs in europe.

Re: SF: France Vs Germany
better watch that game before commentating RG.
It was neither an even match nor did Schweini flop.
In fact, Schweini was absolutely fantastic first half until he caused the game-changing penalty 10 seconds before HT.

But Kevin from crawley tweeted Bastian flopped. Had to take his word tbh
Doesn't sound like an exciting match but heard Ozil was amazing. Maybe i'll watch it
