Re: Brexit: Should the UK stay or go?
Considering the fact that London (Greater London) has a population of 8.5 mio people, this would be an even more populated country than Scotland (5.3 mio people)BarrileteCosmico wrote:In addition to the 2nd referendum petition (which already has 1m signatures) theres' now a petition for London to become independent with 100k

It gets better.
Dailmail published an article on how brexit will affect mortgages, holidays and NHS. These are the comments

This gets more ridiculous by the hour
Wales has asked for the same thing too. Screw the EU! We're better off alone! Uhm... England, can we keep getting those EU funds?

B, you go and vote so that you can have your little say in what you believe is best. But your say still counts at the end!

The empire will crumble. We will all starve to death this winter with no food and no fuel to keep us warm. People will be freezing on the streets of London. It will be the end of the world as we know it.

Britain once built the biggest empire in the history of man. With no help from the EU I might add. I'm sure we can survive this.

Re: Brexit: Should the UK stay or go?
Not quite what Brexit voters wanted, I guessIllegal immigrants aiming to cross the Channel say Brexit will make it EASIER to sneak into Britain because France will no longer try to stop them
Migrants living in the jungle refugee camp in Paris have praised the Brexit vote claiming French authorities will no longer block their passage to Britain.
French politicians reacted angrily to the referendum result, with the Mayor of Calais seeking the removal of the controversial refugee camp claiming the British government should deal with the situation.
Asylum seekers make nightly attempts to sneak on board trucks looking to cross the Channel, but are often intercepted by French police.
One Afghan asylum seeker told the Mirror: 'Everything is very tough now, they don’t let people go to the UK. But if the UK is out of the EU, France is going to say, "Bye bye, you are out, now take your refugees".'

4% who voted remain are happy now.
1% who voted leave are unhappy now.
So using your reasoning who are the idiots?

I don't understand how a first world country got to be this ignorant and gullible. 10-20% of every population are idiots, but to actually have 52% of your country be this stupid is ridiculous.

Re: Brexit: Should the UK stay or go?
The worst thing is that the old ppl, the real nucleus of Brexit - basically a mass suspended in the past - eager to go back 20 years but it's not possible, have decided for the future of young ppl , massively pro - EU , because young people have a most dynamic vision of life and a clearest perception of "new world". They want opening, not closure.
I believe a social earthquake is going to explode soon , when the distortions generated from this insane decision ( Imo ) will be evident.

Re: Brexit: Should the UK stay or go?
All this guff about young people is overblown. Only about a third of 18-24 year olds voted and only about a half of 25 to 34 year olds.
But yeah let's take the whims of the most loud and dramatic young people as if it's gospel

Re: Brexit: Should the UK stay or go?
Kinda reminds me of post-elections. The amount of vocal youngsters backing Labour or Greens were overwhelming on social media. If only more bothered to voted in the referendum. Would have been what they wanted.
But everyone has nearly moved on from this anyways. World moves fast. Most are talking about Glastonbury now. In a week no one will care about brexit till something big happens again.

You know, all the drama on Friday made me completely forget about Glastonbury and I missed Muse's performance. Now I can't find the full set anywhere because BBC are useless and only uploaded half of it.

Re: Brexit: Should the UK stay or go?
Interesting comment I found on an article of The Guardian.
It appears Cameron wasn't merely being a coward after all. One last ditch petty political move to save some face.

Re: Brexit: Should the UK stay or go?
It just occured to me that if NI and Scotland leave the new flag would have to be a combination of this:
http://rugbyjpassets.s3-ap-northeast-1.amazonaws.com/image/team/team_640x427_24_1441955696.png
and one of these two:

Can't see a combination that would be aesthetically pleasing

Black-white-yellow-red-green with dragon? I guess it would look pretty African-y then (except for the dragon) ^^

Thinking of a flag will be the least of their worries
Replacing the dragon in the Wales flag with a red cross wouldn't be too bad tho
