BarrileteCosmico wrote:Mbappe is the real deal, but Haaland without service often goes missing from matches. He's not a guaranteed top 2 best player of this era yet.
The guy scores almost as many goals as games he plays for all of City, Dortmund, and even Norway. Different levels of service and he still gets crazy numbers.
Clear of anyone but Mbappe in this generation.

We are so used to duality thanks to Ronaldo and Messi that we need this Haaland-Mbappe rivalry now.
But truth be told I think neither will reach those levels. I see Haaland reaching the level of someone like Ibrahimovic, and Mbappe like Suarez or Shevchenko perhaps. Which is by all means incredible, but I think it will take some time until we have Messi/Ronaldo kind of goat level rivalry.
Even if they manage it statistically.

This just puts into perspective how insane Messi and Ronaldo were. Hovering above everyone else in a whole other layer of the atmosphere

Well Messi and Ronaldo played against each other countless games, playing for the biggest clubs in the world at that time. A rivalry on many levels.
PSG and City are bland clubs nobody cares about they win several championships still regarded as bs oil clubs
I like them both as players but Mbappé-Haaland era means nothing, if anything we might be currently in a buffer era where nobody belongs in all time great discussion. First serious injury and Mbappé is in trouble as he loses the acceleration edge, while Haaland is a Lewandowski in the making, great goal scorer, not really transcending the sport however.

It seems like Jude Bellinham might have a strong case at the 3rd place behind Haaland & Mbappe.
Already La Liga's undisputed best player by a long shot and was Bundesliga POTY in his last season at Borussia Dortmund.

Safe to say that in big games Haaland is a literal flop.
Higher end defences always snuff him out as it is.
