Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Lucas is back in the squad for the game tomorrow.
Giroud, however, has a small groin problem and will miss the game. Debuchy has pulled his hamstring.
Wenger says the squad will be a mixture of youth and experience, but will still be "90% first team".
The team could be:
Martinez; Jenkinson, Gabriel, Holding, Gibbs; Elneny, Xhaka; Jeff, Ramsey, Iwobi; Lucas

Who AW considers 'first team' is quite open to interpretation tbh

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Santi Cazorla to undergo ankle surgery. Club expects his recovery to take at least three months.
So out for the bulk of the season, then. Time for Xhaka to step up.
In better news, Welbeck is close to a return. Could be back in Jan. #LANS

Could have won the league last season if Santi was fit for the second half of it.
A real shame he'll be out for a lengthy time again.

The first name Arsene mentioned while talking about Santi's void.....was Coquelin.

Just play Ramsey and Xhaka.
Then we could actually have a RW at RW.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Debuchy out for six weeks. Poor guy.
Giroud is a doubt for tomorrow with a groin problem.
Elneny will be touch and go due to the illness he had against Southampton.
Wenger said they did everything they could to avoid surgery for Cazorla. He had inflammation on the back of his foot that wouldn't go away, even with anti-inflammatories. They've been told it'll be two months out but Wenger thinks it'll be closer to three, what with rehab and all.
Potential team:
Cech; Gabriel, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal; Coquelin, Xhaka; Walcott, Ozil, Iwobi; Alexis
Subs: Ospina, Jenkinson, Gibbs, Elneny, Ramsey, Chamberlain, Jeff

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Mertesacker, Bellerin and Giroud trained with the first team today.
Mertesacker is still a ways off, as this is his first full session since injury. Bellerin won't be travelling to Switzerland with the rest of the squad, but may have a chance for Stoke. Giroud will be travelling with the squad and is likely to start on the bench.
Coquelin is suspended.
Wenger yet to decide on how much he rotates the team.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Mustafi will be out for three weeks after he pulled his hammy against Stoke. Ramsey won't be in the squad either due to concerns about his own hamstring. Otherwise, the squad will be the same as it vs Stoke.
Predicted team to play Everton:
Cech; Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal; Coquelin, Xhaka; Walcott, Ozil, Chamberlain; Alexis
Subs: Ospina, Holding, Gibbs, Elneny, Iwobi, Lucas, Giroud

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Ramsey still not back, "one week away" according to Wenger. Welbeck will join full training next week. No new injuries from the Everton game, except a few bumps and bruises.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Wonder if Ramsey's inconsistent performances have something to do with him constantly getting injured?

Same kind of thing with Giroud being in and out of the team so long (although I think fitness played a part at some point), Lucas getting injured for a game or two when it didn't seem Wenger could fit him into the squad and Cech having a convenient temporary injury for our first UCL game (he was fit enough for the bench!) to give Wenger a cushion to explain why Ospina was getting European duty.

Chamberlain ruled out of the Boxing Day match against West Brom, but should be back for the Palace game on New Year's day.

Ramsey and Welbeck back in full training. Wenger unsure about Ramsey's participation against West Brom, while Welbeck will obviously be short.
Chamberlain's injury is a "matter of days, not weeks".

Mustafi and Akpom have returned to full training, along with Danny Welbeck. But Walcott and Ox-Chamberlain were NOT with the main group #AFC

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Francis Coquelin set to be out for at least three weeks after he pulled his hamstring.
Lucas is a doubt for Preston due to a problem with his ankle.
Ozil is also a doubt. He's being assessed by Arsenal's doctors today, but a lack of training time/match practice is likely to rule him out.
Koscielny and Alexis will be rested. Koscielny has a problem with his thigh, apparently.
Santi Cazorla is "far away" from a comeback and may not play again this season.
Danny Welbeck could feature against Preston, depending on Lucas' fitness.
Ospina will start in goal, and "everyone else" will be part of the squad.
So, with all that mind, our potential squad:
Ospina; Gabriel, Mustafi, Holding, Gibbs; Ramsey, Niles; Walcott, Iwobi, Chamberlain; Giroud
Martinez, Debuchy, Xhaka, Jeff, Willock, Akpom, Welbeck

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Cech, Koscielny, Ozil and Alexis all return to the squad for tomorrow's game against Swansea.
However, Bellerin will miss the game due to an ankle problem (is expected to be back for the Burnley game), and Walcott is still out with a calf problem.
Potential squad:
Cech; Gabriel, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal; Xhaka, Ramsey; Iwobi, Ozil, Alexis; Giroud
Ospina, Holding, Niles, Jeff, Chamberlain, Lucas, Welbeck

Cazorla suffers a setback, had to undergo a 2nd operation. Likely to miss rest of the season.
