What a shame, he has been our best defender this season.
Maitland-Niles, Holding or Jenkinson to replace him?

This came out of nowhere, How did he go on Internationnal duty if he was injured
Does Debuchy still want to play for us ? , while the idea of Jenkinson playing for us is cute. I'd prefer Debuchy to be honest.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Debuchy is absolutely atrocious. He hasn't looked worthy of playing above League One in over a year. Idk how he did on loan but with us and during the preseason, when Wenger gave him a chance, he looked totally past it.
Now the question is, Jenkinson or Mustafi at RB at Old Trafford. Jenkinson looked decent vs Reading and very bad vs Ludogorets (then again, so did Gibbs). He's had a good amount of recovery time but if he gets snubbed the start then he has no Arsenal future. That's just the way it is. If he has any business being Bellerin's backup, this is exactly the scenario where he'll come in handy. So if Wenger doesn't pick him, it's a huge vote of no confidence.
Mustafi has played at RB but the problem would be breaking up our first choice CB partnership and greatly reducing the width our wingbacks usually provide by putting a CB on the right. Gabriel and Holding are also options but, really, nothing is that comfortable.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
It'll be Jenkinson. Debuchy has not only been ostracised completely but would lack the required fitness and sharpness to come in and perform without being a total disaster. Niles is another option but he's makeshift at best. The fact he's preferred over Debuchy shows you what Wenger thinks of Debuchy right now.

Jenkinson is poor.
Would rather give a try to Niles or Holding.

Everyone seems to play a 3-4-3 these days, I wonder what ours would look like
Cech
Mustafi Koscielny Monreal
Ramsey Coquelin Xhaka Gibbs
Walcott Alexis Özil

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Bellerin has got to be our most important player. The difference between say Ozil to Ramsey is big, but the gap between Bellerin to the next replacement is staggering...That's our entire right side attack gone.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Early reports said Bellerin would be out until at least December. We won't know the full extent until he Arsenal has a look at him.
Alexis was the one who people were fearing could be out for six weeks, but apparently he's going to play on Tuesday. Arsenal are apparently very worried about him. If he's torn a muscle playing is only going to make it worse.

I don't mean to be selfish but whats the point of playing him if he is not 100 percent fit ?. They will gain very little from this ffs

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
They're desperate for the points and haven't got Vidal. More than just being their best player, having Alexis there will be a morale boost for the whole team.
It's the typical clash of interests. Chile need him to play and Alexis will want to play because they're only thinking of the next game. Arsenal will fear long-term damage but good luck convincing Chile and Alexis.

Cazorla is STILL out. Not even training at the moment.
Bellerin confirmed to be out for at least four weeks.
A decision on Alexis will be made on Friday.

I doubt we'll see Cazorla before February at this rate. This is probably what's delaying contract talks with him too.

Not heard a thing about Wele lately. Last we were told he might be back in December for training at least.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Lucas is back in the squad for the game tomorrow.
Giroud, however, has a small groin problem and will miss the game. Debuchy has pulled his hamstring.
Wenger says the squad will be a mixture of youth and experience, but will still be "90% first team".
The team could be:
Martinez; Jenkinson, Gabriel, Holding, Gibbs; Elneny, Xhaka; Jeff, Ramsey, Iwobi; Lucas
