So sources are saying the deal for Alves is a free transfer. Great bit of work from Juve, always finding deals on the market to fill in gaps.

How is it a free transfer? We have him on contract until 2017.

Apparently a provision in his contract said he could leave for free - seems fair in my opinion after his years of service, not to mention he is in the twilight of his career so we couldn't have made big bucks from him anyways.

Alves leaving is really sad news. Club legend and for my money the best RB to have graced the game. Still comfortably the best RB out there. Hope Messi somehow convinces him to stay.
Besides all the technical qualities he brings to the table, we will also miss his competitiveness.
Greatest competitor I have seen on a football pitch. Up there with the likes of Schumacher, Nadal, Serena etc. And he showed that in the Cup final.
It is a really underrated quality and is a huge reason why we have enjoyed sustained excellence in this era. We have had a bunch of GOAT competitors in Alves, Xavi, Iniesta, Masch, Suarez, Eto'o etc. It is what Ferguson's United had and it is what we have.
With Alves and potentially Masch gone, we are going to need replacements who can bring that element. They need to have obvious quality but also be tough as nails competitors.

If Alves does leave, I wish him all the best.A champion player with a champion mentality. And I cant wait for all his haters to change their opinion once he rips apart Serie A.

All reports point to that even though Juve/Masch agreed on a deal, that we don't want to sell him. Club already decided that a pair of Mathieu/Verm/Bartra are leaving, so Mascherano is still needed. I don't think he leaves, players agree fees with other clubs all the time and nothing happens.

The Alves thing is different, as we inserted a clause that he could leave on his own free will for free at the end of this season since he agreed to stay and help us out since we had the transfer ban. With Mascherano it's not the same, if we don't decide to sell him then Juve will have to pay his release clause, which is stupid big. I think I last read it's like 90M or something like that lol

I hope we can get Pogba in return with these Masch&Alves deals.

Aleix Vidal and Sergi Roberto should cover the RB position well until some good option pops up.

Vidal couldn't even convince Lucho to get time ahead of Sergi, a CM, at right back. Same goes for Adriano at left back with Sergi, lol. We clearly would need a new right back.

We can rule out Bellerin, he just said a few weeks back that he has zero desire to play for us, that his girlfriend and his life is in London. Said he's settled and doesn't want to leave. So yea, I don't think he's coming.

Some news today, Alves has until June 5th to leave for free both this summer and next. After that his fee would be 12M. Also his agent is denying that he is leaving as of yet. Same thing with Mascherano's agent, he is denying he is leaving

If we can't get Bellerin (which we won't), the. jao Concello (21) from Valencia is the next possible target.

Don't want Bellerin. He's another speed merchant like Alba with little else to his game.

Too small and can't defend, there's no way anyone looking for a permanent right back should be chasing Florenzi. Terrific player and competitor but his place is in midfield, not in the backline.

Besides Roma would sell Pjanic,Nainggolan,Manolas,Rudiger before selling Florenzi.
Almost impossible to see him leave.With Totti retiring and De Rossi probably heading to US at some point,he'll be their next captain.

What do you think about José Luis Gomez, Lanus' right back? Good enough for us? Could be a new argentine BFF.
