Re: The Official Comicbook Movies Thread: Part 2
Two main reasons why I personally loved TDK better than TDKR. The Joker and Bane's voice. Honestly Bane's voice bothered me way too much. Watching in theater I couldn't understand a single thin he said, it was awful. Watching later at home was a bit better but at that point the movie was already ruined for me.
And of course The Joker >>>>>>>

Saw the movie yesterday. I thought it was fantastic and top 3 CBM movie for me. Spiderman, Black Panther and Ant-Man stole the show for me. Tom Holland is great as both Peter and Spidey and his chemistry with RDJ was on point. Can't wait for Homecoming
- Spoiler:
- anyone who thinks that Spidey was severely underpowered ? Theoretically Cap should be a walk in the park for him, but maybe in the MCU Rogers isn't peak human but rather superhuman.

Thought the same
- Spoiler:
I guess we can say spiderman is only 6 months into his abilities while Cap is a veteran
However despite that spiderman's spider sense was non-existent which pissed me off
He pretty much can beat everyone in the avengers bar hulk and Thor

- Read somewhere that the reason for the googles/lenses he got is that he's still not used to his spider senses
We're dealing with a scrub Spidey that's still getting used to his abillites

- Spoiler:
- I think they may have limited the visual representation of the spider senses to give the solo-movie director a chance of giving the visual style by himself, as it'll no doubt be a big part of future films.

Dammmmn!
Told you guys Civil War will be the best superhero film of the year.
The build up was expertly layered and damn of course the airport scene and the end put the movie on a whole other level.
Spidey was great. Black Panther was okay, thought the writing didn't fit him in as well as Spidey, but oh well.
Ant-Man stole the show though of course
His banter >>>>>>>
But ironically both the winners were Cap and Iron-Man their arcs were dealt with brilliantly, one of Downey Jr's best all time performances.
By some way the best MCU film, and I'm fighting myself to give it a 4.5, but as of now I just can't find any reason, so for now it will be a 5/5 for me.

Just saw it.

More reactions later but *bleep* glorious movie.
And that Airplane scene

Re: The Official Comicbook Movies Thread: Part 2
Just got back from seeing this in IMAX 3D. IMAX was definitely a great choice...3D...not so much.
The movie itself is a vibranium solid 9/10. Had all of the advertised feeling of an Avenger movie without actually being one and I think that's what make it such a great experience.

- Spoiler:
- Tom Holland's Peter Parker/Spiderman is vulnerable in ways neither of the previous incarnations were able to pull off. This is crucial for the Homecoming film so I was very impressed by what I saw. Surprised he got as much screentime as he did though as that was a rather lengthy cameo. Getting him to that scene was a little off-putting though. Felt forced.
Chadwick Boseman killed it as Black Panther. Just exuded presence each time he was on screen as either T'Challa or Panther. Really held his own. I will definitely be looking forward to what Ryan Coogler can do with that material now.
I think this movie probably was the best story told in MCU to date, counting movies, TV shows and Deadpool. A genuine, relevant plot that really hit close to home. Poignant and unabashedly realistic. It felt truly personal to everyone involved in ways the other movies hadn't quite done, as it was on display even for the villains. Awesome writing.
Loved seeing the spark between Vision and Wanda already start to take place, as it does in the comics. He's my favorite Avenger specifically for what Paul Bettany brought to this role. He's literally their Spock in a lot of ways: Supremely logical yet cerebral and thoughtful.

Surprised about the rave reviews. Not that it's an average or even bad (superhero) movie, it's pretty good and I liked it, but I didn't think it was anything special. Would rate it 7.5/10. Maybe I'm getting to used to that kind of movie

Didn't really think so. It was really good, but it stuck the formula. Nothing shocking at all.

Really liked the movie.
I didn't see the reveal at the end coming, was a good suspense.
Unlike other MCU movies, I didn't mind this one having a weak-ish villain.

But awesome movie overall. As a casual fan, I got the pay-off of hype v reality. Unlike the other one that released this year.

Liked Spidey, Black Panther, Ant Man and all. Genuinely did not miss Thor or Hulk.
I'm curious to know how this sets up the future movies. There was hardly any furthering of the infinity wars storyline. Or is that for Ragnarock?
Haven't seen a Thor movie yet, will probably have to watch that one I guess. Or is GOTG2 going to set it up?

Ragnarok will definitely set up something for the Infinity Wars I think and Kevin Feige already said something along those lines. The last thing we know about Thor is that he went to learn about whats going with the infinity stones that are all of a sudden appearing all over the place.

Makes sense. Ragnarock and GOTG2 both releasing before that so I guess that will have some build up to this.
