Will he be playing regularly from go or have to be content playing backup with limited time considering the form and rythm we aren in

Probably will fill the void of Rafinha.

Possibility to play in the front line when you dont play one of the cracks. Rotate in the midfield because they need it, they cover alot of ground and Iniesta is more than 30.

I'm almost 100 % certain he will not be used upfront. I'm saying this because Enrique indirectly and repeatedly says he wants signings in the winter window and he seems to want Nolito the most. He will play in midfield. I also think he will do well. Wouldn't surprise me anymore if he outperformed Rakitic. Arda is equally hard working but more skilful. Similar player to Isco actually, just better. Warmed up a lot to this signing.

I agree, signing an actual forward changes everything. But if one isnt signed, I imagine Enrique playing Turan over Munir/Sandro.

Wait though, better than Isco? Nah, not with that at all.

Could he outperform Rakitic? Highly suspicious of that. I think he will try hard and run, because he is at Barca now. But I see him more like a nuisance and an aggressive fouler, ..Rakitic actually defends without the fouls. We shall see.

Rakitic is practically used more of a right mid than a center mid which suits turan, which in the summer was a great buy and a necessity but with sergi roberto's sudden rise the buy seems a bit less useful

  hopefully with his ability to get out of tight spaces it'll help us move the ball more, but i don't know if it'll outweigh ivan's workrate and defensive contributions

Honestly, I think Arda and Isco are pretty similar in their characteristics. Stocky little players, skillful, good dribblers, hard to knock off the ball, more ball carriers than ball distributors ... Arda is much more of a warrior though and a bit crazy. A real character. I think the Rakitic role where he moves into wide areas a lot to allow Messi and Alves to drift inside will suit him a lot.

I agree with that, when you talk about Arda' role. Maybe that is the best player for him. I am sure that was the consideration when he was signed.

But I see a relatively big gulf in ability between him and Isco.

Turan closes the gap with effort and spirit, but I think Isco has more quality. Madrid have no idea how to use him though, I can see that much.

Personally I don't believe there is a gulf. Isco is still young and can improve. Not a bad player at all but at the same time I feel he is overrated because he is Spanish and has that insane ball control which makes him great to watch. His passing is not elite level though and that's a no-go for a midfielder. He can't playmake. You have to play him wide and let him take on players for him to be effective which is why Madrid fans are begging to play 4-4-2 with Isco on the left and James on the right. Arda isn't much different. Basically Isco with more experience, bigger balls and a better beard for me.

This ability will come in handy when he plays on the right for us.

In terms of positioning, I can see what you say about Arda exploiting the "Rakitic Role". But Rakitic gives a lot in terms of passing, especially first touch, that Arda doesn't have.

Lol Isco was awesome in Malaga, he had the talent to replace Iniesta long term in the Spanish national team.

There is a significant gulf, Madrid being inept about how to use him has made you forget. But this isn't new, as they consistently incorrectly use talented players.

You said put him in a 442 kind of formation on the flank, and I agree that should be his position. He cant do the things you need to play on the inside.

But he is destabiliser with his dribbles and creativity. He can ruin a teams shape with his ability to take on players in the 1 v 1. I dont think Arda can do that, he lacks that gear of acceleration to get through a static defence.

I can see when you press Arda he is capable of a nice move to turn out of danger and he can take advantage of spaces if you play him 1 v 1. But I dont think he would have any impact on a static, organised defence. I think he would lose alot of balls or (simply move it on) and doesnt have the physical tools for recovery.

I think Isco is alot better with that.

I understand what you say about Isco being rated due to being Spanish and ball control and all that, but I dont care about that. I just see what he is capable of, I think he is capable of alot.

I like those video's, especially that one vs Barca. But that is against Jordi Alba, so you have to take that into consideration.

When he is fit and integrated ... bah gawd. Iniesta and Neymar on the left and Arda, Messi and Alves on the right, dat skill overload.

Didn't see very much from him at all. But he's new and it's his first game so I expected as much. Will properly judge him later after the season is over, however, I'm happy to have a quality player able to fill in.

While new, he has been training with the team for 6 months. He's new to the fans but he should be able to play seamlessly with his teammates by now.

Not sure if serious. As if small pitch five-a-side training games and rondos, technical and tactical training etc. could replace realistic games.

I don't think it matters, the one in better form or fitness will start. Arda can play other positions also, so I don't see it as a problem for him.

Arda was good. Showed some skill and aggression, exactly what I expected of him. He's going to bench Rakitic for good real soon. Good for the team's rotation.

Personally like Rakitic more but they should rotate. Rakitic gets the important games of course.
