I wonder when did you watch the Vidal, he has many qualities but being calm on the ball is not one of his trait, a CL final is one prime example.

Lets say if Barcelona already have Pogba on the lock down next summer and you buy Vidal this year to play after the ban, how to you fit all of your midfielders in?

i think pogba is meant to replace iniesta in the starting midfield
our man will be 32 years old next summer (when either of vidal pogba or whomever comes)

arda is here to replace the minutes xavi had this season, he's more of a rotational super sub imo.

I mean for our midfield, I feel Arda is going to blow while Vidal would actually be able to provide something. Matter of fact I think playing Arda in our midfield will be a disaster, and seriously don't think that's even the plan.

I think the plan is for him to be Pedro's replacment and Rafinha/Sergi be Xavi's (for now). Playing Arda on the wings as a back up winger I think is the reason why the bought him, which I think is ridiculous considering he is slow and injury prone...also doesn't score allot. Would of honestly been better with Aleix Vidal being our back up winger instead of Adra.

Difference between "calm on the ball" and being a hothead lol.

Vidal is a hothead who turns on thug mode when he gets mad (CL final obvious example). However, on the ball, from what I've observed, he wouldn't be out of place in Barca. If Rakitic is good enough for us, and he has been, then Vidal would be fantastic.

Also think we could use a bit of a guy who goes into thug mode every once in a while.

When did this thing of people thinking he's a scrub occur? Vidal is a very good midfielder. Awful that we passed him up for Turan of all people

vidal was overrated last summer, mostly from the epl fans who wanted him so bad

Turan to me is primarily an alternative to Rakitic.

Him playing next to Rakitic is a disaster, unless we face Deportivo level team.

I dont get why he is seen as an alternative of Iniesta or as a replacement of Xavi, he doesnt do what either of them actually do/did for this current team.

Regardless of feelings on Vidal, we can at least agree that we should have perhaps, you know, bought an actual midfielder who can play a variety of positions rather than whatever the hell Turan is (because nobody really knows what Enrique even wants to do with the pos)?

He's got so much character. One of those players where you definitely know that he will give his all for the jersey. For that alone it's impossible for him to flop IMO, even though he was too expensive. But if he helps win back to back CLs for example no one will care.
