Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015 - Pt.2
Wisdom is shit anyways so it wouldn't have helped us much whatever the case with injuries at RB. Manquillo though I wish we had kept.

This is the THIRD season Wisdom has been sent on loan. Don't understand the logic of offering a contract to a player who hasn't made grade in three years. Just sell him.

Maybe we don't want to lose him for a measly tribunal fee and get an actual transfer fee when he leaves.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015 - Pt.2
Yeah, dat massive dough coming in for Wisdom.
Probably Rodgers thinks Wisdom could yet have a future at Liverpool, but the problem is that he's never going to be a good full-back, he's a center-back, but these teams like West Brom and Norwich are going to play him at right-back, they just want a solid defense without that much attacking contribution from the full-backs. Wisdom and Kelly are exactly the same in this regard. Natural center-backs, maybe good enough to play full-back for smaller teams. If Wisdom has a future at Liverpool it's at center-back and he's not going to be playing there at Norwich, so it's blah.

I'm a bit worried (and getting increasingly nervy) with Borini and Baloteli still around.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015 - Pt.2
Andy Hunter The Guardian: "The Liverpool manager picked the same side and bench as opened the season at Stoke City last weekend, which meant summer signing Roberto Firmino biding his time among the substitutes again and no place in the matchday squad for Lucas Leiva or Mamadou Sakho. The Brazilian midfielder and France international defender, who could both exit before the close of the transfer window, were to be found sat with fellow outcasts Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and José Enrique in the back row of the directors box."

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015 - Pt.2
Honestly, if it's true about Sakho being unwanted by Rodgers, that is so, so, so so so so so frigging stupid. I already think it's wrong to make two out Balotelli, Enrique and Borini to train on their on to hammer home the message they have no future here. Balotelli got his main chances last season when we were collectively shit and should be given another chance and Enrique is still a good left-back. Giving the finger to Borini I can understand, he seems to just turn down all chances to go play at his own level. But treating Balotelli like this after just one season and Enrique even though he is a good player, it's wrong. But the worst really is by far if Rodgers is trying to get rid of Sakho.

Having Kolo Toure and Joe Allen as covers for CB and CM respectively fills me with so, so, so much confidence.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015 - Pt.2
Sakho is a good player but not irreplaceable. If he isn't in the manager's plans, and we are bringing in someone to replace him (if he goes) then so be it. I won't be as upset as when Agger left for example. I think he's overrated by the majority of Liverpool fans because of his NT -- he has never been that good for us, and he's never been particularly healthy.
I've already said how I feel about Lucas. I don't mind him going.
If we get decent fees, and use that money to buy other players that are happy to play back-up, rotation or can contribute right away I'll be fine with it.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015 - Pt.2
What type of replacements are we going to get in the last week of August ??? Last time we got Balotelli . Both Sakho and Lucas aren't just quality players they are settled ones too. And like I said, with them gone we have Toure and Allen as cover. Why do you hate those two so much???cujo wrote:If we get decent fees, and use that money to buy other players that are happy to play back-up, rotation or can contribute right away I'll be fine with it.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015 - Pt.2
I don't hate either of them, but I'm not going to get choked up about either leaving when neither seem to be in Rodgers' plans. Especially if it means getting players that can rotate or have big potential in the future that do fit into his plans.
The problem is having guys like Sakho and Lucas, who are not bad players, sitting on the bench when they want to be playing. Obviously Rodgers prefers guys like Milner and Lovren and if Lucas and Sakho are unhappy with that it doesn't work well for the team as a whole and just creates endless media speculation. I would rather have a settled squad that has the full trust of the manager.
If they really need to go for that to happen, then fine. If they can be professionals and accept rotation roles or bench roles from Rodgers that would be great too.

So the window closes in a week's time and Borini and Balotelli are still here.

Let's be honest... No team was coming in for them as their first choice.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a few inquiries for them yet this week. There have been rumors of interest in Balotelli from Lazio, especially now that Klose is out injured. I could also see Sunderland coming back in for Borini, as they could use all the help they can get at the moment.

Can see Balotelli going on loan to Sampdoria or some other Italian team.

I think the last thing Balotelli wants to do is go on loan to some mid-table Italian team.
I'm glad if he stays. Borini could leave, though.

I just don't see Balotelli playing. Unless we have two of the three strikers injured.Art Morte wrote:I think the last thing Balotelli wants to do is go on loan to some mid-table Italian team.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015 - Pt.2
There's just no point in keeping Balotelli. Judging by preseason, I would say that it is far more likely we would see Ings, Origi, and possibly even Firmino played as a loan striker before Balotelli gets another shot. Therefore, the only question is whether we choose to play him to boost the social media presence of the club. Then again, I suppose we still have Jose Enrique for that.

You're pure filth.
You literally will sway your opinion tomorrow if Rodgers put Coutinho for sale.
Anything that Rodgers does, you follow. An absolute sheep.
1984 stuff.
Sakho over-rated ? LMAOOOOOOOOOO
replace him with whom ???? There is already very few top class CBs on the market, and we're lucky to have one. and sell him and replace him with whom exactly ? He's head and shoulders above the other two playing instead of him.

Yeah Rodgers is giving him them absolutely no sympathy.
I wish he would do the same to Joe Allen.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015 - Pt.2
Apparently, Hendo's injury has forced Rodgers to pull plug on Lucas transfer and he'll be in squad tomorrow.
Borini close to Inter and Balo close to AC Milan.
Honestly, it's so sad the way Lucas is being treated after almost a decade of honest service. By far and by far, the most like-able player in our squad.
but as RA said, Rodgers has a history of tossing away loyal servants of the club with no respect ( Reina, Agger, Carra, Gerrard, etc).

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015 - Pt.2
Agreed, I've already voiced my concern before as to how Lucas is being treated. I lost all my respect for Rodgers as a person after what he did to Agger so it doesn't surprise me, but it tarnishes Liverpool's name.
