Yet only one of them we could have hoped to sign.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015 - Pt.2
I'm not convinced we need to change our playstyle to make proper use of Balotelli. Coutinho has started making more runs into the box, Firmino loves to be direct, Milner and Henderson both love to run into the box, or make incisive runs. Benteke is great with his back to goal, very strong on the ball and knows how to play a final ball. He's also been one of the best scorers from outside of the box in the PL over the last 3 years. He will have more time and space to operate in with a much better supporting cast than at AV as well.
We might end up putting in a few more balls in the air, but ultimately I don't think Rodgers is going to abandon his philosophy. I think he'll probably try and use Benteke's strengths to fit his philosophy. Plus, he actually doesn't have awful movement or on-the-ball ability either.
I also think that he'll bring a different element in terms of trying to break down parked teams which have given us a lot of problems over the last few years, and his aerial ability will certainly help with set pieces.

I was just comparing the price tags, never said we could have signed Vidal. If we're going to sign a player it should be for a realistic price, that's what I was trying to say.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015 - Pt.2
The money doesn't matter. Every PL team is swimming in it. Carroll went for more. Torres went for more and flopped. Look at what Di Maria went for last season. Money is not a limiting factor to most PL clubs anymore so get used to ignoring the lavish amount of money spent on basically every signing. Teams will be looking to gouge the PL clubs and they will be more than happy to oblige.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015 - Pt.2
So...I thought it was only British rags reporting this, but now...
I mean, I know Dortmund is like 99.9% unlikely to sell and he'd be very unlikely to go to Liverpool anyway...but...
German media report Liverpool FC bids 69 mil.€ for Marco Reus.
Not gonna happen. No way!

YES, but as usual they are reporting based on a tweet by journalist Tancredi Palmeri:

Liverpool's contacts with Reus are true. Still no bid. Reus apparently more keen of Real Madrid, but Liverpool been working intensely on that.

We shouldn't sign any more players before offloading some. Our squad is bloated.

There is more chance of RA getting Rodgers' face tattooed to his arm than us buying Reus...EVER.

Really disgraceful that we end up selling Lambert before we get rid of Balotelli and Borini.
Sinclair doesnt want to be here so really doesnt matter what he does.

Apparently that kid in the back is a Brazilian youngster Allan that we've signed from Internacional. Went under the radar there.

^ Wouldn't make sense if he was leaving permanently, but it's only a loan.
A bit weird if Gomez stays and Wisdom goes on loan, though.

Why is it weird? Wisdom has no future at LFC. He's a very average player. Gomez on the other hand is very talented and actually has some semblance of hope with us.

Don't think he has future with us. Why not just sell him and get done with it.Art Morte wrote:^ Wouldn't make sense if he was leaving permanently, but it's only a loan.

Don't call me James wrote:Why is it weird? Wisdom has no future at LFC. He's a very average player. Gomez on the other hand is very talented and actually has some semblance of hope with us.
Why did we offer Wisdom a 5-year deal, then? And Gomez is an 18-year-old who has 24 career appearances in the Championship and that's it. Maybe he will become better than Wisdom, but I'd certainly be far more comfortable seeing Wisdom play for us this season than Gomez.
