It really would be. Still makes it hard to determine what kind of formation we'll use though. If we get both Bacca and Firmino I feel like Kovacic probably isn't coming with Milner likely to be a starter.

Clyne - Skrtel - Sakho - Moreno
Henderson - Can - Milner
Firmino - Bacca - Coutinho

Or if we forgo Clyne and use the 3-4-2-1 again...

Can - Skrtel - Sakho
Ibe - Henderson - Milner - Moreno
Firmino - Coutinho
Bacca

Sterling and a few scrubs OUT.

Midfielder in Jan if our midfield is too mediocre or gets found out too easily.

These are good targets. But agree with Nishy, Kova & Illara ain't happening.

But Bacca/Rondon & Firmino have strong chances of happening

Firmino's agent already confirmed that he's leaving Hoffenheim for England but wouldn't specify the club. Originally most people picked up the rumour and assumed it was Manchester United, but Liverpool have been linked with Firmino for over a year which is why I suggested we might be in on him like a couple weeks ago.

Hopefully I'm right and all this speculation is just everyone picking up on it late, because if the original deal was with United I highly doubt we have a chance of 'hijacking' it.

Not really sure, but on the German forum they speak highly of him as easily Hoffenheim's best player (and Volland is highly rated). He's also been good for Brazil for the most part. His stats are nice as well, but Germany is a different league. I can't imagine he'd suddenly become shit, but stranger things have happened.

He has two straight seasons of 15+ goals and 10+ assists and is one of the best dribblers and chance creators at the age of 23 and rated as one of the best players in the Bundesliga and the Brazilian NT. I'm ok with it.

I might be getting ahead of myself but if it was between Firmino, Bacca and Rondon for our striker position and then we are still truly after Kovacic we might have one of the best squads in the PL next season.

Clyne - Skrtel - Sakho - Moreno
Can
Henderson - Kovacic
Milner - Firmino - Coutinho

Getting a bit ahead of myself but that is a really nice team.
