Tony Barrett - Brendan Rodgers will have to prove he is the right man to take Liverpool forward in an end of season review with FSG.

They are calculated in their decisions, after a season review they will make up their minds.

actually knowing FSGs record till now, I really doubt that they will sack Brenda.
1. If they know that they failed to provide a striker to him, they might keep him.
2. If it is not that way then Brenda will have to accept that he and committee both failed to address the issue of a striker, they might sack him or at least appoint a DOF.

I still think if FSG sit with Rodgers for discussion, it will be interesting who takes the blame that we spent the season without a proper striker and I think till now what the reports came out, it is unclear whose head will be taken out by FSG. They surely have to act since last 4-5 windows have been 5/10.

In an ideal world I guess there would be collective responsibility leading to some overhaul of the system & policies. FSG just can't avoid responsibility after steadfastly propagating signing young, potential players when we needed proven quality. Our scouting system should be under microscope as well. How on earth could they conclude that players like Aspas, Balotelli, Coates, Alberto have the required quality of can fit into our system. Brendon too must do some soul-searching; you simply can't keep playing Balotelli as lone striker, or dump Henderson/Emre/Markovic in wing back.

Top 4 being the minimum expectation is comical, and arrogant.

Also this season has just been an exercise in Murphy's Law. Nothing went our way from injuries to player form.

*bleep* off top 4 was comical, if we beat CP, Hull and West brom we would of been 4th.

Top 4 was a solid aim and even if you take away last season Rodgers goal was to have it this season, he buckled against mid table clubs when we needed him, even after the worst start ever.

A hard fought top 4 and current season finish: Rodgers

Yep, top 4 was a solid goal, but having it as a minimum expectation for the season is delusional. Rodgers doesn't play the games he can only set the team up to play. They have to score (which they couldn't) so he switched to a more defensive system and they still faltered when called upon for the most part. There's a lot of blame to go around to Rodgers for not making adjustments eariier, and for relying too much on Sterling and Sturridge. However we wouldn't even be close if United didn't have a nightmare start to the season also, and they stumbled regularly against lower teams as well they could easily be making the same argument and their squad is the most expensive in PL history.

Ah yes, because Liverpool have been a shining example of a consistent top 4 team? I mean with United, Chelsea, City, Arsenal and Liverpool one of these things is not like the other over the last decade. So yes, having a minimum expectation of making the top 4 would be arrogant and delusional. Making that the primary goal as we grow back into a consistent top 4 team seems more likely. Expecting it is just silly.

But hey, we're not Southampton so the idea that there are 4 better teams than us in the league, with more spending power, and just as good if not better of coaches is pretty silly.
