On theories, I have seen a lot of people theorizing that Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) is going to join the dark side because in the trailer when they say the dark side they show Poe walking and then then they say the Jedi and you see Finn walking in the opposite direction. Could be foreshadowing both of their change in allegiance.

Seems more like people want to theorize like crazy tbh. Poe is seen in the space between the dark side and Jedi and not while it's said.

Really don't want him to be evil. And I doubt he is, there's already a bunch of bad guys with Benicio joining in ep 8.

What sense does that make Laughing

He is going to be a GOAT ffs, everything I hear and see about him just raises the hype level. inb4 all his dialogue is cut he dies in the first movie like Darth Maul.

People thinking Luke and Kylo Ren is the same are retards tbh. He's got Adam Driver's voice, height and hair. And also it's been f'ing confirmed he's Kylo Ren Laughing

Del Toro surely can't be Darth Maul. Think Obi-Wan's killed him tbh, or that's what he's doing in an eventual Obi-wan film between 3 and 4

I hope Obi Wan is not recasted. Ewan McGregor's Obi Wan was the best part of the prequels IMO.

Also this is my personal theory. Kylo is either Luke's son or Han and Leia's son. And he will turn good by episode 8. Hear me out. The trailer shows two things, 1) He is a Vader worshipper and 2) No one really knows facts about the original trilogy, the events have become a myth. I bet Kylo does not know anything about Anakin redeeming himself. He thinks that Luke went up and murdered his father (Kylo's grandfather either way) and the Emperor in cold blood. Luke will reveal the truth to Kylo and Kylo will join the good guys. The main baddies will be Benicio Del Toro and Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis- 100% sure he is the Emperor Palpatine of this trilogy).

Agreed with that. Was my take on the whole thing as well as I've written multiple times. Rey and Kylo are either brother and sister or cousins. I think something went wrong when Luke trained them both or just Kylo and that's why he's not around in ep7.

The Kylo Ren toy even says "so you're a scavenger now" which is certainly said to Rey. Which means they know each other very well.

Both are Skywalkers, which is obvious from the fact that JJ and Kathleen has called the trilogies for Skywalkers stories.

I'm more convinced they're cousins. Kylo as Leia's son and Rey as Luke's daughter.

It's really interesting for me to read how hyped people were for Episode 1 and their reactions after watching it. That movie was as hyped, I think even more than Ep 7 is now. Ended up disappointing the vast majority, I think it is the biggest disappointment in movie history. People bought tickets for movies which played the Star Wars trailer beforhand and then immediately left after watching the trailer! And apparently everyone lost their shit after seeing this poster.

From what i recall people didn't hate on Episode 1 until months after the fact, most people at the time wanted to believe it wasn't garbo Laughing

It wasn't a case of instant hatred at all from what i remember, no one really knew it that quickly.

I don't know how hyped it was compared to this new one. I'd still think the new one is more hyped. I've never seen anything like it globally. And I'm a 100% it'll break the box office record for opening weekends. Something Phantom Menace didn't even do, despite the big hype.

The hype is more global now I'd think because of the internet etc. Also the fact that we were cursed with those 3 shit movies makes this one so much more important.

Force Awakens broke the American presale record for tickets in a single day by 8 times more than the last record holder, Hunger Games Laughing

Absolutely ridiculous.

That poster for phantom menace is freaking GOAT though. The trailer is shit imo, but poster is GOAT.

Mind you i was 9 years old so it was natural, as i have rewatched them i understand now the reaction.

Now i only really like Episode 3 from the prequels with Episode 1 being a passable movie by isolation if i ignore the fact it's a shite Star Wars film compared the original trilogy and Episode 2 is absolutely *bleep* abysmal.

Liked 1 and 3 of them when I was a stupid younglin Laughing

The first one is laugh out loud bad imo. Second one taught me to fast forward on VHS. And third one was great until a rewatch.

Now I really don't like any of them.
1 is the funniest, because I laugh at everything being shit.
2 has the GOAT sand quote and boring beyong belief.
3 that Vader Nooooooo :facepaplm:

The story was great and was killed by lame storytelling from Lucas who didn't get enough help to direct and take decisions.

Going to watch the original trilogy this weekend Proud

Then marathon all 6 in December before the premiere.

2 is boring AF and 1 while being what you say i at least don't get bored by it which is about all i can say for it.

BTW i'm nearly done with season 1 of Rebels, you were right about this it's GOAT. Proud

He also has full final cut on all films and his trailers iirc. This is the best way to go with Star Wars. You really don't need to show too much, just enough and people will flock to the cinemas, which is exactly what JJ has done. There is no director in the world as good as hype and marketing as him.

Surely in general it's about telling the story of how Palpatine took over lol? From the beginning everything was about him being in the position to eventually take over and the steps he took.

From the trade federation trying to invade naboo, to the clone wars to himself completely taking over the Senate were he basically was the Senate lol and taking down the jedi order.

Everything was carefully constructed plan from him, everything else is a side story to me.
