Re: January Transfer Window 2015
Can't say I know all that much about him but I think it's probably a pretty safe bet he can't be any worse than Salah or Schurrle circa 14-15...

I'm ok with this too, some real width on the right.

My opinion is that he's a legit. Unlike Willian he has a good end product and is a pure RW (I believe Willy's natural role is on the left, where he played at Shaktar) but unlike other pure RWs like Navas he's really unpredictable in his play. He's a terrific dribbler and always manages to beat his man and create an occasion against parked busses and he's faster than anyone we already have so he'd be devastating on the counters, has a powerful longshot, has an insane workrate and can actually defend as he started his career as a RB. I expect him to be as good as Hazard if he joins, plus he's still very young and has a lot of room of potential.
The only downside, like every January transfer move, is that teams don't want to sell their key players in the middle of the season and therefore we'll have to pay the full ₤27M buy-out clause without any discounts.

Re: January Transfer Window 2015
From what I've been reading, the deal is dependent on Schurrle or Salah leaving. So we're interested, and apparently meeting his agent next week, but no deal will go ahead until we offload our current wingers.
I defiantly think he'll provide something extra for us while giving competition to Hazard and Willian.
He's our response to City Signing Bony, and, in my opinion, it's our way of proving to City, we're still better than them.

According to the Mail, we've had a 21m pound bid rejected for Cuadrado.

Outs:
Schwarzer FREE
Salah LOAN
Mikel 5m
In:
Blackman/Beeney FREE
Khedira 15m
Thorgan Hazard LOAN RETURN
Kramaric 8m
That is, of course, unless we have a lot of money to spend, then we should go after a top winger, such as Reus or Cuadrado.

Even if they cost 30m.

Of course stats don't tell the whole story of anything but it's interesting nonetheless.

Di Marzio says just the opposite:

Claims the club are refusing to meet the full buy-out clause and that signs are "negative"...

Re: January Transfer Window 2015
Here's the full story in English:
http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/calciomercato/chelsea-stalling-on-paying-cuadrados-exit-clause-the-situation/
As we reported yesterday, Cuadrado's agent Alessandro Lucci met with Chelsea to see if there are the conditions for a deal. As far as we know, Chelsea doesn't want to pay the full amount of Cuadrado's full exit clause of €35 million, but that could change should they sell Schurrle for around €30 million, with the Bundesliga as the likely destination. At the moment the signals are negative for Cuadrado's potential move to Chelsea.

Re: January Transfer Window 2015
No team in the world let their best player go in January with a discount because there's much less time to look for a worth replacement and for him to settle in (Torres 4 years ago). I think we're looking for the player to force the move but like I said, if we want a discount we need to wait the summer, now it's the buy-out clause or nada.

Re: January Transfer Window 2015
To let a player who seemingly would fit us down to a tee go over a small matter of a few million quid would seem not only very unwise, but also unlikely given we're talking about Chelsea here.

That's why I already purchased a Chelsea t-shirt with Cuadrado on the back. JC17
