Re: January Transfer Window 2015
Any post-window squad that didn't include Salah was going to be a step up. Everything after that is just icing.

Chelsea transfer news: Blues set to make £9.75m profit from Andre Schurrle sale

Chelsea are poised to make an incredible £9.75m profit on Andre Schurrle when the German international joins Wolfsburg today.
The Blues have been playing hardball with the Bundesliga outfit to get as much money as possible for the attacking midfielder and have dragged negotiations into the final hours.
Wolfsburg are determined to sign the 24-year-old, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Bayer Leverkusen for £18m in 2013.
They originally had a £23.5m offer rejected and are now set to pay £24m up front, with another £3.75m in performance related add-ons. Personal terms have also been agreed on a four-year contract worth around £86,000-a-week.
There is less time for the deal to be finalised though as the window in Germany shuts at 5pm English time, six hours earlier than the deadline in this country.
Yesterday Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs admitted negotiations with Chelsea have been tough.
He said: "There is no agreement at the moment. The clock is running out. Our options are getting less hour by hour. It depends on money. We still would like to sign him."
But should Schurrle depart as expected though, it would be the second massive deal between the two clubs in a year.
The fee for Schurrle will cover most of the cost of Juan Cuadrado’s £26.1m transfer from Fiorentina. The Colombia international passed his medical on Saturday and was in the stadium to watch Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City.
Egypt international Mohamed Salah is going the other way on loan and will have a medical today before flying to Italy.
Significantly, neither Schurrle or Salah were named in the squad to face Manchester City at the weekend for fear of picking up an injury to put the deals at risk. Manager Jose Mourinho picked four academy players to sit on the substitute’s bench instead.
Cuadrado is ready to join the rest of the players in training this week and should make his debut at Aston Villa on Saturday.

Re: January Transfer Window 2015
Schürrle was on the German transferlist just before the deadline, so the transfer is at least still possible.

Re: January Transfer Window 2015
Deadline day is over.
Looks like we've only brought in Cuadrado.
At least we avoided Enner Valencia.

Re: January Transfer Window 2015
I would've bought a CM, if possible, tbh. We still don't have a proper replacement for Cesc and Matic. I wouldn't have minded recalling MVG too.

Re: January Transfer Window 2015
I know, in Italy we call the January transfer window the reparation window. Obviously our midfield doesn't need the january fix we needed last season with Matic, but I think depth at CM is one of our biggest issues right now.
Maybe we're just waiting for the right opportunity to present itself, like it did with Cesc.

Re: January Transfer Window 2015
I'd rather make do with what we've got for the rest of the season then pursue someone of quality in the summer, than panic-buy mid-season just for the sake of it and ending up stuck with someone mediocre.

Re: January Transfer Window 2015
Lads, no need to buy a CM, RLC is going to burst onto the sence, ala Busquets and we'll not need another CM.

I really hope we give RLC a chance (lol Mou manager), we need some new English talent developed because Gary is shat and JT isn't getting any younger.

I think if Hummels is leaving that we should go in for him.
Zouma + Hummels would be so beast.

Re: January Transfer Window 2015
I hope Ivanovic does a Maldini and becomes a CB during the late stages of his career, he would boss it.
Otherwise yea, we should go for either Hummels or Varane.

Potential captain material, too.
I just want one or two of our youth players to make it.

Re: January Transfer Window 2015
I genuinely hope either he, Baker, MVG, Ake become next season's Cesc and Matic's back-ups and understudy and replace them in the future. At least one of them.Kick wrote:Lads, no need to buy a CM, RLC is going to burst onto the sence, ala Busquets and we'll not need another CM.
