Chelsea are closing in on Juan Cuadrado of Fiorentina. It has emerged over the last few hours that the Blues have every intention of meeting the 35 M euro contract release clause and get hold of the Colombian winger as soon as possible, under specific instructions of manager Jose Mourinho. Should the transfer go through, Fiorentina could potentially re-invest the money in Atalanta midfielder Baselli, and Salah, who would be available on loan from Chelsea. England-Italy... transfer deals are in full swing.

Chelsea have just reached an agreement for the transfer of purple Mohamed Salah [...] on the basis of a free loan until June 2015, extendable for another year with payment of one million euro from the club's president Della Valle. Now, it remains to find the agreement between the purple and Salah, but there is confidence.

Jose Mourinho has made a personal intervention to get the Juan Cuadrado deal done.

And Chelsea are now confident of announcing the £26.8m move on Friday - and could even see it done in time for Cuadrado to be in the squad to face Manchester City.

It has also seen Andre Schurrle move closer to the exit door as Mourinho made it clear he wants to shake up his squad and has been backed to the hilt by the Chelsea hierarchy.

Mourinho has also made it clear to Cuadrado's representatives to try and push the deal through as he is desperate to sign the Colombian World Cup star.

It was Mourinho who has also made Cuadrado desperate to move to Stamford Bridge as he sees it as a major step forward in his career to work under the Portuguese coach.

But it was Mourinho's eagerness to get the deal done which has seen Chelsea make it clear to Fiorentina that they will meet the £26.8m buy-out which was originally the sticking point.

André Schürrle is on the verge of completing his return to the Bundesliga with his agent confirming a “verbal agreement” has been reached between Chelsea and Wolfsburg.

A sum of around €30m (£22.5m) is reported to have been agreed for the transfer, which Schürrle’s agent Ingo Haspel told Germany’s SID agency “should go through on Friday”.

“There are still a few things to discuss, but we’re no longer talking about figures,” Haspel added.
Until those have been resolved, Wolfsburg are holding back on confirming the transfer, focusing instead on Friday night’s Bundesliga meeting with Bayern Munich.

“The fact is, all of the required signatures are still lacking,” Wolfsburg’s director of sport Klaus Allofs told ARD television.

“No contract has been signed and I’m a bit old-fashioned and there are still some obstacles to get round. The ink is not yet dry.”

The 24-year-old winger nevertheless looks certain to return to Germany, where he played for both Mainz and Bayer Leverkusen before joining the Blues in 2013.

He would become the most expensive player in Wolfsburg’s history, eclipsing the €22m (£16.5m) they paid Chelsea for Kevin De Bruyne in the summer.

Chelsea are lining up a likely replacement in Juan Cuadrado who is likely to cost them around £26.8m including add-ons from Fiorentina.
