Re: Carlo Ancelotti sack watch
The defense is just horrible.
Never seen anything like it in my life.
Ramos and Pepe together is useless. Ramos has no idea how to position himself, but creates a lot of tolerance because he scores goals. Even though he's a horrible defender.

No offence to the RM fans here, but thank God I'm not a RM fan. Always chopping and changing teams, galactico signings for the sake of it, revolving door of valuable players and managers, and having a president basically calling the shots on who starts and who comes in. And on top of that all of the politics involved.
I'd be frustrated as fck.

Re: Carlo Ancelotti sack watch
Why is anyone surprised? Perez did things that Carlo did not want and he disassembled the CL winning team's structure. Now Carlo will have to find a new system that does not rely on Xabi and Di Maria. Until then surprises can and will happen. I think the team finally started to click last season at around November?

Not that the CL winning team oozed class, I think they had their share of good luck in some critical moments (as all teams do), but yeah I agree.
The fault goes to Pérez by imbalancing a team that actually needed some added power on the defensive side of things. But instead he did the exact opposite.

Yea agreed completely.
However just like last year, the league might be lost the time Madrid finally clicks.

All the talk about Madrid clicking towards the end of the last season is overrated in my opinion. They weren't all that. But certainly much better than they are now.

Incidentally, this is the same allegation that was leveled against him after he was sacked from Chelsea, particularly concerning his second season. He saw his assistant axed mid-season and completely out of the blue (Wilkins) and £50m carthorse Torres foisted onto him and said or did nothing about it. He's since said he was the one who wanted Torres (just as people in here say he's claiming the decisions taken this summer by Perez were all things he either approved of or collaborated in), but I've never believed a word of it. The guy's very weak.

Because he is a manager, he is being paid to help the team win. He isnt being paid to keep a job
For your information, there have been many coaches that have opposed a presidents decisions... It usually doesn't end up with the manager being sacked for it either. You usually need a reason to sack someone or else it would look bad for the president...
That's what is so *bleep* up about it. Ancelotti was at his safest ever after winning CL and he barely put up a fight for his players. Coward.

But they were definitely much better in the 2nd half of the season than in the first, where I at least did not personally find them impressive at all.danyjr wrote:All the talk about Madrid clicking towards the end of the last season is overrated in my opinion. Re: Carlo Ancelotti sack watch
Perez buys a bunch of players, Madrid eventually win the cl, perez sells important but not flashy players to get more toys because he thinks he knows better, after all his squad just won the cl, Madrid shits the bed because they have zero balance in the squad, popular title-winning manager gets sacked. Time is a flat circle.

Better than an abysmal first half of the season? Of course. But even in the second half they weren't all that impressive. They were poor in La Liga, won the Copa del Rey final by a small merit and Champions League final was decided on moments of individual brilliance rather than a collective effort. There was A LOT to fix but not only the president completely ignored that, he destroyed what was sort of working for Madrid.
And now he's expecting Chicharito to fix the problems

lol at winning la copa by a small merit .
destroying atletico and barça doesn't count in your world i guess .
and madrid dominated the crap out of that final . the only reason real was in trouble was because of a casillas brainfart, not atletico's brillance .
not to mention the destruction of bayern in the semis of course .

they looked better when an injury ravaged atletico took the title from their home
real's champions league win was one of the more convincing in recent years . and unlike a certain team , their semifinal victory was a destruction of the title holder, not some referee screwjob
lol at barça fans of all people complaining about how madrid won the CL

Re: Carlo Ancelotti sack watch
As impotent as Barca looked against Atleti they looked like gods whenever they played us last season and that's despite going through multiple distracting and ridiculous off field shenanigans. They finished above us in the league which says quite a lot. We were able to show our quality against them in the Copa though so I guess it wasn't so bad.
Back on topic, as kneejerky as this thread seems I have always felt that Carlo never really understood how to control games away from home, these are the games that win you the league and Carlo still treats them with disrespect and general apathy. How else would a team winning 2-0 and cruising collapse and lose 4-2? How many freaking warning signs do you need? What type of poor squad management puts you in a situation where you can't make even a single decent impact sub in the second half? Why can't Illarra play when it's obvious that the midfield needs a player of his skill set in the middle? Why do players have to play out of position, just switch the formation to suit them because it's not like you haven't done that before. Why are some players never benched while others can't buy a full 90 minutes? It's poor and even though Flo is partially to blame here I refuse to accept that a manager is not at fault for losing a game 4-2 after being 2-0 up. Then again, this is a man who lost huge leads in much bigger games than this lol.
Even in the games that we win it's always felt like a huge struggle just to get 3 points away from home in the league. Our result against La Real is just a continuation of a problem that hasn't been addressed or solved imo. What makes this worse is that while our squad this year is very good it's going to be tricky to manage because we are expecting two very good players to come in an carry the team from a creative stand point. Add to this our over reliance on CR and things could very well get ugly this year.
Those of you who have known me for a while will know that I generally have an optimistic view to our chances at the start of every season, however this year the alarm bells are ringing for me. I don't trust Carlo to get it done in the league, he couldn't get it done last year with one of our most stacked squads ever against an in crisis Barca and an Atleti side that only depended on 14 players all season. I don't know what he does differently in cup matches but whatever it is, it has to translate into the league if he wants to stay employed.

Re: Carlo Ancelotti sack watch
You can't win the CL every season. If you win it twice in a five year span that is considered amazing and if you win it three times in a five year span then that is just historic.
The problem is Carlo will not have that long lol, if we don't win the league this year he is out and you can't expect us to repeat in Europe. If we can do that then he'll stay but don't hold your breath.
In the last six years we have won the league a grand total of once. Sorry but the league should be a priority for the club, the players and us as fans.
