Re: Official Copa America Thread
Everyone everywhere ranting about Ronaldo missing a penalty and not scoring in the Euros and having just one assist, but absolutely no one talking about Messi missing a penalty a not scoring in Copa America and having just one assist
At least Cristiano cries, does Messi even care? Needs to start shedding tears asap.

Messi never was exactly praised for being a bright individual and he certainly missed out on stimulating the tears to conceal his missed penalty for the whole world would have cried along with little Lionel.

Re: Official Copa America Thread
Cristiano Ronaldo's sister, "Elma" Aveiro, revealed that the football star broke down in tears during Portugal's match against Slovenia after spotting their mother on the stadium’s big screen, describing her as "suffering from a lifetime of pain."
This emotional moment came after Ronaldo had a penalty saved by Slovenia's Jan Oblak, despite later redeeming himself in the shootout.
The match saw Ronaldo, a former Manchester United star, miss several opportunities for Roberto Martinez’s team, sparking calls for him to be dropped.
His missed penalty in the first period of extra time led to a defining image of him in tears during a huddle.
However, Portugal's goalkeeper Diogo Costa became the hero by denying all three Slovenian attempts in the shootout, securing a quarter-final spot against France on Friday night.
"Elma" Aveiro took to Instagram to defend her brother, posting an image of Ronaldo's tears and explaining the true reason behind his emotional response.
“This scene happened when he saw our mother on the giant screen, suffering from a lifetime of pain,” she wrote.
“Do you know what that means? You don’t know… No one will ever know… Not everything is football, fame and money.”
Ronaldo's "sister" explaining the crying fit.
Cristiano always having to explain himself post game is not necessary.

Lol, Messi has been MoM in 2/3 games and involved in 4 goals. He was clearly unfit in this match though and shouldn't have started.Vibe wrote:Everyone everywhere ranting about Ronaldo missing a penalty and not scoring in the Euros and having just one assist, but absolutely no one talking about Messi missing a penalty a not scoring in Copa America and having just one assist

Anyway Argentina played bad as whole, and they got away with this one because of Dibu. Scaloni needs to tweak things for SF.

I genuinely couldn't tell if this was satire or an actual quote.

Harmonica please at least admire how Cristiano has the ingenuity to let the tears flow to spin a different and positive narrative on his dire performances whereas Messi on an off game has that autistic mouth-gaping clueless glow.

Re: Official Copa America Thread
What's the point of crying mid-game anyway
It's like, yea I missed and it sucks, but if the team wins anyway then it's just part of the game. If you cry mid-game you make it all about yourself

This is the point.
We're all talking about it. Cristiano's PR team
Whoever is running his sisters account and times his crying needs a massive raise.

Re: Official Copa America Thread
Cristiano is running his "sisters' account I will not tolerate any other claim about it. Its smart though since he can use his "sister" to voice his concerns which always come right after the much and eerily similar to his own.
I understand Bill is having his gastro reading about Cristiano and his tears but this is a serious matter as of now.

I’m not having and Gastro nor am I anywhere close to being bald. I just don’t find these types of conversations interesting. Maybe it’s my age, no sense of humour

Damn watching highlights, Canada actually demolished Venezuela even though they only won by penos. Biggest game in their history coming up.

Last match vs Argentina we didn't look ridiculous
Obviously we're going to lose again but canadian football is definitely on the rise. Would be fun if Copa America is always conmebol + concacaf from now on. Makes more sense than inviting countries like Japan and Qatar who got no link to america whatsoever.

Re: Official Copa America Thread
what do you guys think about adding 4 Euro and 4 Afcon teams to the current format... would make it 24 teams like the Euro format...
the main retorts i've heard from this idea so far, is that it would defeat the purpose of it being a "Copa America" and it would be like a mini-World Cup... but i would say to that, teams from the Americas still make up the majority.
i like this idea because it would easily add more competitiveness to the tournament, and it would answer some of the hypotheticals fans like to stir up between Copa vs Euro vs Afcon style of football, such as which is better or more entertaining to watch.
since the Euro happens around the same time, obviously this would give a chance to teams who didn't qualify to get invited... since Afcon happens earlier in the year, i think you could invite the 2 finalists from Afcon, and 2 other countries that didn't qualify... just to give them more international experience and perhaps gradually raise their quality
i honestly think this is a great idea, came up with it myself

Re: Official Copa America Thread
Idk, as Copa and Euro's are now going to be held at the same time, the teams would be quite low quality on whole. This year it could've been like Norway, Sweden, Bosnia and Finland. And probably half of those will decline so it will be even worse teams. And teams going there will be in shock of the physicality and officiating compared to European football.

These moves to increase number of teams is not good at all. Best to keep Euro and America to 16 and WC to 32.

What a shitshow of a competition. The refereeing is beyond the worst i have ever seen... i mean it's MMA rules. The pitches are awful. The organization is awful.
If I'm a proper NT, I'd play my 3rd team and hope to get eliminated.
Complete travesty.

I don't remember seeing a more poorly trained Brazil team.
I expected more from Uruguay. I think Colombia will be massive favorites.
