Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. I
Chelsea striker Fernando Torres still has a future at Stamford Bridge, insists manager Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese boss opted to start without a recognised striker against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek, while the Spaniard failed to make an impact off the bench.
But, despite Torres' struggles this season, Mourinho is adamant he will stand by the much-maligned forward.
"Yes, he has a future here," Mourinho told reporters. "If you want to improve ... I think that's normal and basic.
"Does he have future [at Chelsea]? Yes."
"He works hard, he brings things to the team, but we want him to score more goals. He wants that too.
"He's the kind of player I respect, he deserves to be respected, and there's nothing more I can say about it. I think people who give everything they have, you never can complain. [Torres] gives everything. Obviously we want more.
"I think during his period in the club he had moments [of his best] and some of them important."

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. I
If Udinese, despite their lesser status, are bold enough to start a uber green keeper like Scuffet, Milan would do the same with Perin immediately....as would Roma should we not continue on with MDS.

Iago Aspas has admitted that he wants to leave Liverpool at the end of the season in search of more first team opportunities.
The striker left Celta Vigo last summer to sign for the Premier League outfit for a fee of €10m.
But having played just 13 times for Brendan Rodgers’ men, the 26-year-old has claimed that he will look for a transfer away from the club.
“I am not 20 years old anymore,’ he is reported as saying by the Metro newspaper.
“I can’t go on loan and explode.
“I think the best would be to transfer to another club and that I find the best fit for myself and the club.”

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. I
Sensational reports in the Italian Press this afternoon claim that Vincenzo Montella could be targeted by Milan in the summer.
Sport Mediaset suggest that the Rossoneri will relieve Clarence Seedorf of his coaching duties at the end of the season, regardless of where they finish in the table.
And with the Dutchman out of the picture, Barbara Berlsuconi will go to the Fiorentina boss and try to tempt him to San Siro.
The former Roma striker may prove difficult to get however, having signed a contract to keep him in Tuscany until 2017.
It is also unclear whether Montella would want to swap Champions League-chasing Fiorentina for middle of the table Milan.
Mediaset though, insist that the Diavolo are looking at the Viola tactician as a potential successor to Seedorf.
And should they get their man, Luciano Spalletti is expected to come in at Artemio Franchi, having been sacked by Zenit St Petersburg in March.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. I
Whilst I would love Montella, I very much doubt he would leave this current Fiorentina project which he has dedicated so much to. The only way I saw Montella departing early was if the Italian FA asked him to coach the national team, however Prandelli's renewal has put that to rest.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. I
Borussia Monchengbladbach have confirmed that Marc-Andre ter Stegen will leave the club this summer - even if the goalkeeper is blocked from joining Barcelona.
The Germany international has agreed to move to Camp Nou at the end of the season but the deal has been thrown into jeopardy by Fifa's decision to ban the Blaugrana from signing any players for the next two transfer windows in relation to alleged irregularities in the movement of players under the age of 18.
That shock development has thrown up the possibility of Ter Stegen remaining at Gladbach for the final year of his contract with the club but director of sport Max Eberl says the 21-year-old will still depart, pointing out that they have already signed a replacement in the form of Basel's Yann Sommer.
"I think you can see from how relaxed we are sitting here that our situation has not changed," Eberl told reporters on Friday.
"Marc will leave us in the summer and we will then have Sommer as our new goalkeeper.
"I cannot envisage any scenario that could arise that would mean he would be staying with us."

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. I
Kaka has expressed his delighted at having made 300 appearances for AC Milan - claiming that he'd like to make another 300.
The Brazil international recently expressed an interest in plying his trade in the United States and club CEO Adriano Galliani subsequently admitted that although the 31-year-old is under contract until 2015, he is allowed to leave this summer because the Rossoneri cannot qualify for next season's Champions League.
However, on Friday, Galliani presented Kaka with a medal to commemorate his 300th appearance for the club, against Chievo last weekend, and spoke of his desire to see the attacking midfielder remain at San Siro.
"To have reached this milestone is something truly extraordinary," the vice-president is quoted as saying by Milan's official website.
"The hope of the club and all of us is that we will still be here to celebrate appearance number 400, 500 - and beyond.
"Ricardo is truly in the hearts of the Milan fans. You can still give so much to this jersey. Few others have played games of the quality that you have produced here in Milan.
"My compliments on behalf of the club and president [Silvio] Berlusconi."
When Kaka was offered the opportunity to say a few words, he revealed that he too hopes to play for Milan for many years to come.
"I'm very happy with these 300 games in this jersey," he enthused.
"The sentiments expressed in the speech made by Galliani are reciprocated because the feelings that I have for this club, for this shirt, for former and current team-mates are true and from the heart.
"I hope to be able to make just as many more appearances. Thank you."

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. I
Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina has admitted that is flattered that he is still being linked with Barcelona.
The Spain international is currently on loan to the Partenopei from Liverpool but Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has stated that there is little chance of the 31-year-old returning to Anfield this summer.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis wants to sign Reina on a permanent deal at the end of the season but the man himself has hinted that he is still keen on the prospect of returning to Camp Nou, where he began his career.
"It pleases me that they're speaking of me as a possible Barcelona goalkeeper, but now it's difficult to speak about what will happen," Reina told Onda Cero.
"I'm happy at Napoli. We're facing the end of the season trying to reach second place, even if now it will be difficult. But we will not let up.
"Obviously, there's also the final of the Coppa Italia, which we have so much desire to win."

Sky Sport News HD just said that the "Die Welt" has written that Bayer Leverkusen sacked Sami Hyypiä today. Sascha Lewandowski will probably take over again, but there's nothing official yet.

Sad, if true. But may be he should have started with some lower-ranked team. Any idea about this Sascha guy!!!

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. I
Well, Sascha Lewandowski was coach of Bayer together with Sami Hyypiä until the end of the last season as long as Hyypiä didn't have the full coaching license.
But the Sky reporter said one very true thing: Bayer had the very same problem (that they started well and then collapsed in the last matchdays) for the last 7 or 8 years under 5 different coaches (and even the sport director changed in between), so there seems to be some very deep-lying systemic problem with Bayer Leverkusen elsewhere.
BTW rumours say that maybe Armin Veh could a future option for Bayer.

Well, Bayer 04 Leverkusen are a very thankless job for a coach. If you start there, you know that you never will win anything even though it dangles just before your nose like a carrot.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. I
Real Madrid will go for either Southampton’s Luke Shaw or Guilherme Siqueira this summer to replace Fabio Coentrao.
Marca reports that it has been suggested Madrid have already made progress on a deal to sign Siqueira, who almost moved to Santiago Bernabeu last summer.
Siqueira would have been the replacement for Coentrao had the Portuguese’s transfer to Manchester United been completed.
But the deal broke down and instead Siqueira left Granada for a season-long loan spell with Benfica.
Madrid could resurrect the move at the end of this season with the feeling that Siqueira would be an ideal back-up for Marcelo as he is not a big enough name to demand a guaranteed starting place.
Shaw is considered the less likely option because of his young age and high price tag, with €36m mooted for the 18-year-old England international.
Chelsea and United are monitoring Shaw’s situation at Southampton with a view to a move and Madrid are unlikely to make it a three-horse race.
Shaw would be the second Southampton youth graduate in the Madrid squad after Gareth Bale, who started his career as a left-back. The pair also share an agent.

Italian media claim Inter are close to a €30m deal for Porto striker Jackson Martinez, selling Samir Handanovic.
According to Mediaset Premium, the Nerazzurri have set their sights on the Colombian international forward who had already been close to joining Napoli last summer.
It’s reported Inter emissaries were in the stands to watch the Porto-Sevilla Europa League quarter-final on Thursday.
The price-tag for 27-year-old Martinez is thought to be €30m, which Inter would reach by offering €27m plus a further €3m in performance-related bonuses.
He has scored 16 goals in 25 League games this season, plus a further three in 10 European outings.
Mediaset also maintain President Erick Thohir will raise the funds for Martinez by selling goalkeeper Handanovic.
The Slovenian international can make around €20m and is of interest to the likes of Manchester City and Atletico Madrid.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. I
Nicolas Anelka insists he wants to reconnect with football amid claims in Brazil he has been in talks with Atletico Mineiro.
Anelka was sacked by West Bromwich Albion in March for gross misconduct after claiming to have quit the club on social media.
This came after the 35-year-old was handed a five-match ban by the Football Association for his controversial 'quenelle' gesture when celebrating a goal in December.
Anelka says that he is already looking at his options, but is unlikely to agree anything before next season.
"I am not specifically looking for a club but I am receiving offers and the least I can do is check them," he told French newspaper Metro.
"I haven't decided anything yet. My contract with WBA officially ended on 29 March and bar a miracle, there won't be any new challenge before the next season starts, be it in Europe or in a exotic country.
"I want to play football like when I was young, connect myself again with the love for the game of my debut."
Reports in Brazil claim that Mineiro are leading the chase, and their director of football Eduardo Maluf refused to deny their interest.
"As I handle all negotiations, I would rather not talk about it, so I won't confirm it but I won't deny it either," he told O Tempo.
However, Atletico Mineiro president Alexandre Kalil says the club can't afford him.
He told Globo Esporte: "Anelka is a top European football player, with a high salary and we can't afford to pay that."
