Question is, has anyone confirmed or disproven that good ol' Lothar said anything about Drmic to this effect, which is what Fjortoft claims is his source?

I know Lothar Matthäus is kind of hated by many but he was one of the first footballers I ever learned about as a child, and I grew up thinking he was terrific, and I will blindly trust anything he says. He could claim Eintracht Braunschweig were going to sign Messi and I'd believe it. :wub:

But obviously Loddar said this on Sky Germany:

"Drmic is being linked to Arsenal. I know that his wife is already looking for an apartment in London. I assume that he'll successfully finish the season at Nürnberg and that then the Club will sell him with a clean conscience - destination Arsenal".

Problem is, Drmic doesn't have a wife, not even a girlfriend.

Drmic just confirmed he's single and that no one is searching for an apartment in London according to Bild.

He did, however, say "I don't know what will happen but any boy dreams of playing for Arsenal.

I could be wrong but I think Fjortoft's story now is that Matthäus referred to Drmic's "family," not girlfriend or wife.

Bild runs the latest in this Drmic/Matthäus story.

"Drmic goes to Arsenal, for 8 million pounds transfer fee (9.7 million euros, Ed)," the record-National player says to BILD.

In "Sky" Matthäus had said that the wife of the Nuremberg striker is already in London looking for a home. Drmic (21) told BILD: "Right now I'm solo."

Matthäus : "Fact: A woman whose name I know, looking for an apartment for him. I have been right at Lewandowski and Ramos. Again, I will be proved right in the end. "
Drmic consultant Volker Struth: "This speculation is totally far-fetched."

Drmic (under contract until 2017) can get away in a relegation case for around 5 million euros.

Kampl seems tricksy & exciting. And he did say he loved Arsenal a few months back. Looks promising, if physically lightweight. A tiny bit Marko Marin-ish.

(I've only seen YT clips, I don't watch Red Bull Salzburg, so I don't know how the guy does in his games overall.)

EDIT: I answered Sina's question but I didn't meant to step on your toes, Urban - I would love to hear you elaborate on why you like Kampl since you seem to know him better than most.

TL,DR is that he's having an incredible season and on paper looks like a perfect inexpensive signing, but there are some question marks about how to assess him so far.
