So Wenger can hit journalists with gems like
"We have the most throw-ins in the league. Who has more? Tell me."

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Apparently no action will be taken against Arsenal for the flares during the Galatasaray game, while Galatasaray have been fined and ordered to pay Arsenal damages.

The Invincibles proved to be the worst thing to happen to Arsenal... they set out to draw games and allowed Jose Mourinho to turn Arsene Wenger into a specialist in failure

Re: Arsenal Lobby
So Sam messaged me saying he can't do it due to personal commitments.
I would make the preview however I wanted to ask if anyone else would like to have a go? Doesn't have to be fancy at all since it's just Sunderland and just a thread with team news etc will do fine.
So any takers? Answer before 2 hours pls

Re: Arsenal Lobby
I was feeling really dejected but then I looked the league table at home and saw how badly Dortmund is really reeling - they are 15th in a 18 team league, 1 point off the bottom 3. 7 points from 9 games, 6 lost. (Munich are unbeaten with 20 points from 8 games and top).
I'm putting increasingly more faith in AW pulling things off. Only one of my two teams performs like shit, not both at the same time. God knows I can't handle that.

Dortmund's start is quite incredible.
Re: Arsenal Lobby
Random, unsolicited "state of the season so far" thoughts below.
Obviously, it's been a pretty mediocre start to the season. There are plenty of problems.
I am generally pretty pro-Wenger and anti-kneejerk but it drives me crazy that he didn't manage to strengthen the defense this past summer. And then the tinkering with formation to fit Wilshere & Ramsey both into the same side as Özil ... I really wish we'd just stick with a 4-2-3-1 with Ramsey & Wilshere competing, most of the time, for just one spot--as a high-workrate CM who makes the bursting runs forward. And Mesut in the #10 role, interchanging with the wide players naturally when in possession. To me that's just ideal with the players we have. And it's so frustrating that we're lacking any fluency because we keep chopping & screwing. And these injuries are a serious problem.
BUT.
Things aren't so bad. Honestly they could be much, much worse. Fifth place right now, and as we can see, we're above Man Utd, Liverpool, Everton, and Spurs. We've already dropped some points we shouldn't have but luckily the same can be said for every other side with European aspirations (save Chelsea, whose only real "dropped points" are draws with other big teams).
We've scraped a few wins when playing way below par, remember, that's what big teams are supposed to do when in a bad patch. So let's hope our guys can pull themselves out of it.
That win at Anderlecht was crucial for the CL; qualification for the final 16 looks much easier now and if there's a strong performance against Dortmund, finishing top of the group is no pipe dream, either.
There's ample cause for cautious (very cautious) optimism in my opinion. It's a marathon, not a sprint, etc. The next 3-5 matches will be a good platform to keep winning. Ideally the Burnley & Swansea matches will be good tests to regain not simply winning ways, but some cohesion & style, and we can really test ourselves against Man Utd & Dortmund in a few weeks.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
It's been way below standard but we have only lost the one game in the league. There's little doubt in my mind Chelsea have the title on lock, but second place looks up for grabs. All it takes is for us to find that bit of consistency.
Consistency and confidence go hand in hand. Once you've got one, the other tends to follow. We just need to get the set-up and team selection right to do that and we'll be fine.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Agree that second place is up for grabs this season, albeit Man City are favourites for that position.

Two wonderful articles. And not pandering to popular opinions.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Next 5 games:
Swansea (a)
**International break**
Man Utd (h)
Dortmund (h)
West Brom (a)
Southampton (h)
We really need to be winning against Swansea and West Brom. The Man Utd and Southampton games will be a huge test for us, but we are at home, and it'll be a good opportunity (particularly if our squad has Giroud and Koscielny back) to beat them both. Southampton's form might have hit a dodgy patch by then, too. The Dortmund game, obviously, will also be tough, given their champions league form, but a point at home is all that is needed. I'm realtively confident going into these games but it'll take a big effort.

Think somewhere between 13-17. He is a secondary scorer(to Sanchez) and not even sure if Arsene prefers him to Giroud.
