As for Reals game yea nothing to see, the usual pens n ref favs in every other game Think Mbappe played a lot on the RW, perhaps continuing to adjust so dont overlap with Vini... Diaz looks to be out so Rodrygo front 3... that midfield continues to look thin...

Whenever there is an injury crisis these guys come on and they never look out of place. They are almost immediately on par with any other player in the team.
This leads to massive hype because they are like 17. Not everyone has the talent to become a world beater and then La Masia gets accused of making flops. Reminds me of LeBron dragging average teams to finals then being accused of being a loser.

Not only that but also more and more seem to be coming. There are already a couple of next ones in the pipeline that Flick tests on occasion
I still can't get over Bernal's injury, he actually seemed to have a really high ceiling

Re: La Liga 2024/25
It was beautiful to see what effectively was a fluid 4141 with a lot of the free flowing movements that are characteristic of the best version of "Carlo Ball", which for my taste has most often been seen with a 4222, both in late 2014 and throughout last year. Espanyol mostly played 532 and then 442 and sat back with low depth and weren't very good so that made it easier for us to be dominant and look good, but putting that aside, the movements from Bellingham and Arda were very "connective" and Benzema-like when it comes to said connection. They have a very mature understanding of movement.
Ancelotti's best football has come when he's fielded those very functional 4222s where the team is compact, the fullbacks are often quite up with good pressure after possession loss, and when there's a lot of interchanging movement from smart players who add dimensions to how we press, mark, defend, and attack, based on their movements and positioning that might not all be necessarily drilled so hard by Ancelotti.
At its best Ancelotti's football doesn't feel dogmatic nor one way nor the other, and at its best it's balanced sensibilities are well reflected by some of the praise Madrid got last year for being able to be chameleon-like in the team's ability to play in "more ways than one". Still though, l do sense that with Ancelotti, even at our finest, there's a lack of consistency in the proactivity and cerebral thought process of the team both in game and throughout a string of games, and a lack of consistency in how deeply everything is drilled and coached, which is why I'd appreciate if someone like maybe Xabi Alonso could basically come and replicate a lot of the ideas seen with Carlo, with the added touch of making it all more intentional, consistent, proactive, and necessarily cerebral.
Whether 4222 or 4141, the key is for the players to show functional work ethic relative to the situation and to engage in that free flowing yet structured enough dance.
Laissez faire total football.
Doesn't have to do as much with dogmatism or positionism theories as it does with playing... well rounded, complete... total football.
If we had a more philosophizing figure as our coach this all could be more culturally engrained into the club mind you. These days in press conferences Carlo keeps getting asked about the return of the "442" because people have caught on to how well that can work, but he kinda swipes that aside, and he did mention some philosophical bits after the Stuttgart game but to me they come off more as dismissive of sophistication and "identity" in some ways. Well... you can actually make an identity out of not having a dogmatic identity.
"The Madrid Way" is coming to be known as good man managers and good club decision producing a good club and team atmosphere and then said managers just giving the structure for the team to succeed, but you can add more sophistication and inject it into the blood of the club when it comes to the football... and it'd be great to be marked out as the balance between the dogmas that FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, for example, have both come to represent. Madrid's football would be appropriately more open ended and all-encompassing.

We can sign a free agent now. Keylor navas is available
After his shambolic performance vs Monaco people were saying there is a good keeper in the reserves but he's probably too young, but so is Yamal and the rest lol
