25,000 to a club who has 40,000+ who are season ticket holders?

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Question. If Wembley seats 90,000 and we've been given 25,000 then how exactly will the remaining 65,000 be allocated?

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Both Arsenal and Hull have been given 25,000, while 20,000, according to the Guardian, are being given to "volunteers through the "football family", which includes county FAs, leagues, local clubs and charities, the 92 Premier League and Football League clubs, another 134 full member clubs and all those clubs who reached the third-round proper" and another 17,000 to others as part of some membership package. No idea where the remaining 3,000 go.
Basically, in treating the final as a showpiece event to be shown to anyone and everyone, the fans of the club's actually in the final get less tickets when, really, it should be all about them and their teams. You get situations where season ticket holders for the last decade or so can't get a ticket, but some guy with no connection to either side or even any interest in football can.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
That's absolutely ridiculous. Thanks for the explanations.
So that's 45% of the tickets that neither club's fans can enjoy, I wonder how that compares to recent FA Cup finals, I never paid attention to them since we weren't competing.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Tim Payton tweeted saying that Arsenal gets the FA Cup final tickets every year but we share it between the fans of clubs who compete in the final. I hope other clubs does that as well.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Quite shit that.
20,000 to volunteers of the "football family".
The feck, what about the fans of the two clubs who deserve this more.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
If we wear red and white on Sunday while they wear their home kit then we should be fine wearing just the same next month. Very excited for Sunday's pre-final warmup.

Well, are you saying volunteers don't deserve tickets? I agree 20,000 is too high but why do fans deserve it more?
Also, IIRC, Chelsea never had many fans at FA cup finals.

Not necessarily but 45% of Wembley going to people other than the two clubs playing is a bit ridiculous.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Ah! The forums actually work for me finally!
Server issues all week, RG tells me. Since I've been away, we've got our season (kind of) back on track, I should stay away more
I'll be on Hull-Arsenal preview duty, and the usual Hull-Arsenal LIVE thread.

Per Mertesacker has played 4335 minutes this season (all competitions combined). More than any other Premier League player!

Thanks mate
Been really busy between work, research, holidays and personal life. I have seen no games in 2 months either - since before the Liverpool mauling actually. Can't say I 'm not glad though, my heart, soul, psyche and mind are thankful for the lack of annual 4th place trophy roller coaster.
Will try and be a bit more regular, now that the dust seems to be settling ever so slightly.
