Barca '24-'25 under Flick
All of sudden from sadness of Xavi being asked to stay n then just to be dumped, to thinking about how exciting Flick will be for us. First n foremost he will surely make a lot of personnel changes n up the intensity n tempo of our game even more. So that means Spanish amigos will be gone inc. the likes of Ferran n Roberto, PHEW finally~ Importantly I also think he will go for more physicality able players instead of just traditional ball playing midgets hopefully In order to achieve his pressing n attacking game.
Although not sure how much transfer budget he will have... though Im optimistic about that cos it seems Laporta has always wanted Flick even b4 he got Xavi? Anyway assuming a clear out n some funds, he will definitely sign a proper LW at least which we have badly needed since he loves wing play n attacking football So just early guessing out team next season something like:
New LW/Raphinha - Lewand/New CF - Yamal/Raphinha
Gundo/Christensen - De Jong/New DM - Pedri/Gavi
Balde - Cubarsi - Araujo - Cancelo/Kounde

Re: Barca '24-'25 under Flick
As much as I'd like to play firenze and post a sexy lineup there really is no point to it since we dont know what the hell Flick will decide and what transfers he wants
Lately there have been rumors of Raphinha, FDJ, Araujo possibly getting sold.. Now Flick may change everything

Thinking of what Classicos will look like already Last season Bellingham injury time winners won both? I tend to forget these losses being selective memorizing
Depending of how adventurous Real wanna be, its just funny imagining scenario of Davies, Cama, Vini, Bellingham, Mbappe vs Yamal, Konude, Araujo, De Jong, Gavi perhaps... just dunno how we gonna compete physically... But realistically, both teams tend to be more cautious so:
Vini Mbappe
Bellingham
Cama Tchua Fede
Mendy Militao Rudi Carva
Lewand Yamal
Raphinha De Jong Gundo Gavi
Balde Cubarsi Araujo Kounde

Re: Barca '24-'25 under Flick
I wouldnt be surprised if he retires after Man City, since the only way from there is downwards. Barca won't reach their 2008-2011 level anytime soon and he knows it
PSG might be an option but no other team will provide him with the toys he needs.

Don't think he retires until he's gotten more CLs. Will probably join QSG after City. But he is very comfortable at City. Never gets questioned, has millions to spend on players where about 50% pan out and is seen as a God in UK for turning the league into the BL.

Re: Barca '24-'25 under Flick
So atm still looking like best hope for me will be something like the below, with Read Flick wont be looking for any DM or RB, not sure about LW but Im guessing not. Not sure how we gonna make pressing game work if have old Lewand n Gundo (n Pedri) in there lol... guess they would need to be subbed out often when they tire or just other have to make up a lot of the work. N as usual we'll be lopsided n unbalanced n get bullied by bigger sides.
------------Lewand-------Yamal
------Olmo--Gundo/Pedri
Balde----De Jong---Gavi
----Cubarsi--Araujo--Kounde

Re: Barca '24-'25 under Flick
Not sure why they signed Olmo given his injury record and the fact that Barca had a couple players who could play as a #10 anyways.
That said he's one of the most creative players in the world. I don't think it's backed by the typical chance creation stats, but he's one of those players who can completely flip the picture of a game even if there's a somewhat neutral game state.
Great ball striking, ingenuity, and technical ability. Not many players can play as a lone #10 nowadays, but the Euros showed he could.

@fansjavimiguel
"Hansi Flick does not give players extra rest days as was the case during Xavi's time, who used to give players extra rest based on some challenges. Flick believes that everyone should be professional and treated as such, not like children in school based on prizes and gifts."
I always found it a weird part of the culture at Barca. Giving extra days off and then being surprised that we can't keep up physically with other teams

Re: Barca '24-'25 under Flick
Of course, I’m not saying we will win a treble. Not saying we will win anything. But you can already see Flick’s hand which is unusual imo. Whenever we’ve had a change of coach the playstyle and intensity seemed the same regardless if it were Setien, Martino or Valverde etc etc but this guy seems to have needed just one preseason which speaks only to his managerial skill

Re: Barca '24-'25 under Flick
Still not sure what it was with Xavi, was it just fitness issue? I cant remember exactly but there were long yrs when we simply lacked movement n runs, but I think it was pre-Xavi, he did improve on that, but Flick has definitely turned up the intensity through the roof to like 200%
If we manage to win the league it would be another miracle n bad fk up by Real Doubt it will happen though, we prolly get exposed by teams that are able to bypass our press n high line, etc... also we will never make up for them Real 1 goal or 2 up every other game from free pens n the constant ref favs like their CB fouling ppl at will

Re: Barca '24-'25 under Flick
IMO partly tactics and partly intensity. Flick crowded the middle instead of playing with wingers glued to the sideline which works well and lets us dominate the ball more easily. He instructed Lewa to stay in the box and let others playmake. He elevated Raphinha's game by changing his position and highlighting his strengths instead of exposing his weaknesses (1v1 duels down the wing). He also has us playing more vertical football rather than side-to-side. It's a combination of several little tweaks that just makes the wheels roll, sometimes it simply takes giving the right advice to the right players to get the best out of them
I knew we could play better with a little more man-management and commitment... Flick also introduced less days off, more intensity in training and more focus. A lot of times in previous season physical preparation let us down and teams would come back from a lead not because they were superior but because they could overwhelm us fitness-wise imo
