Re: Arsenal Lobby
Not to turn this thread political but I'd like to delve deeper into this, find out if it's legitimate and take it from there. New thread or is that fine here?
Because I, and many other Gooners won't be happy to hear this.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
I do remember years ago seeing some fans turn away from arsenal over a perceived support of Israel, I really don't remember the details now though. For sure there is, or was, significant Jewish influence in the arsenal hierarchy.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
I wouldn't be surprised if it were true. But after rummaging through the arsenal site, the only thing I came across that has anything to do with Israel is Arsenal Israel fans

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Was talking to an Arsenal buddy of mine (Muslim) and after showing him the article, this is what he had to say:
yeah, im not sure about this. arsenal did sign on with israel as a sponsor but it's more like the country in general. companies like sodastream are actually built on illegal west bank settlements which is a bit more worrisome. arsenal isn't an israeli company nor are they built on a settlement or anything so there's like zero point boycotting them right now.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
In any case, it shouldn't matter. Arsenal have hundreds of sponsors and partners who supplies or are part of numerous countries worldwide, including Israel. Arsenal are a football club foremost. They don't take part in politics. We have had Jewish players in the club and Muslim players in the club. We treat them all equally as we treat the fans equally.

We've had Yossi Benayoun for one.
Almost had le Draxman.
Not that it matters who's Jewish, although Benayoun has lost my respect for how he treated Sir Joseph Barton on Twitter.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsenal usually make official announcements when they sign up with new partners and I've yet to see us announce anything to do with an Isreali sponsor.

Calma. Did you even see what I'm talking about?
In that instance, Benayoun was rude and abrasive whereas Barton was actually willing to voice his opinions.

Again, are you sure you read it right?
Barton and voicing 'opinions' doesn't add up, at least when I heard read things on his twitter.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
What are you talking saying about?
Your sentence structure isn't making sense add up.
Anyway. As ridiculous as Joey Barton is, at least he was voicing his opinion, doesn't make it wrong just because it came from him. Benayoun was just insulting him. Made him look bad.

Barton talks a lot of sense on twitter regarding philosophy and Politics. I actually enjoy his tweets on those topics. He is a massive dick, but he is pretty clever.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Did Wenger really respond to Gerrard's comment about Suarez being "too good for Arsenal" by saying Gerrard must have slipped again???

Re: Arsenal Lobby
No lol. This is what he said
"You're never too good for Arsenal and Steven Gerrard knows that," he said during his press conference ahead of this weekend's Emirates Cup.
"But I can understand completely that he asked him to stay because he wanted him (Suarez) to play with him and have a chance to win the Premier League. But it didn't happen, and anyway, Suarez left."

Oh then it was just made up on twitter.
If Wenger said that though would've been a brilliant punch.
