One thing i don't understand is when Ribery won Uefa player of the season for last season everyone was fine with it.

But now after a few goals in meaningless games from other candidates he shouldn't even be nominated?

Well Ribery winning the UEFA award sort of makes sense, he was an important player (not the obviously best player) on a team that won everything including UEFA's most important trophy, the Champion's League. Him winning that makes sense in it's own way. Keep in mind Iniesta won this award for doing fck all so I'm not sure what legitimacy this award has.

But UEFA player of the year =/= Balon D'Or and despite your hipster DNA no way does Ribery deserve every individual award in world football in 2013, not when Ibrahimovic can point to his 2013 and very easily argue that his performances were at a higher level, can't even say Ibra plays in a weak league, not when Ribery plays for the only horse in a race full of mules.

Also the "they only score goals! boo hoo" whinge that you and jibers wallow in has gotten boring. Anyone who watches Ronaldo, Ibra and Messi know that they bring more to the table than goals.

Ribery isn't even a better player than Suarez (who is also quite good in his own right) he should be grateful he won the UEFA award and just have his wife put that on his mantle piece.

I bet though that Suarez and Ibra, or Ronaldo and Messi for that matter, don't track back like maniacs in the 85th minute of a game they're playing with a broken rib, after just having scored the 0:6, against a team that's just a 'mule' anyway.

Now that is just silly. Smart players save themselves for the end of the season. Tracking back till you break your ribs against a much weaker team shouldn't be something people encourage eco smile

In any case if tracking back is what a winger needs to focus on to win the Balon D'Or Di Maria would be the greatest winger of all time. Also, if defending is more important than attacking lets give the Balon D'Or to Lahm or Neuer then. (waits for rwo to agree)

Putting in a shift and tracking back is one thing, but risking a long-term injury when the match is 100% won and won comfortably is just stupid.

anyway, it's not that hard to understad that when a winger does a lot of defensive work and plays well within his team, in addition to scoring and providing assist, that, in fact, makes him a BETTER player.

Disagree, it makes him a more active player yes, that doesn't automatically make him better.

Alves cut off from attacking in the last clasico? no.. he was staying back to be a backup whenever Madrid counter attacked.. Alves was not limited because of Ronaldo defending him but because we know you guys usually hoof the ball to him on the counter.

Let's make it simple for you RM fans

Its not just like Cristiano has been winning major trophies for RM and he wasn't lucky in 2013. Some of his fan boys act as if he's playing for Getafe, CR is playing for RM a club that spent 500+ M since he joined them!

In Messi's case its different, only year which he didn't win a major trophy was 2012 (yet still managed a Cup) and broke all sorts of all-time world records!

CR has 200+ goals with RM, but who cares if RM just won 1/4 LIGA and 0/4 UCL. While Messi who scored even more goals, more assists and his overall individual performance was levels above in this period had 3/4 Liga and 1/4 UCL.

Which clasico was this?

Even then, 1 game doesn't mean much. For example, in the last clasico, IIRC, Messi was the player that won back the most balls, but I would be crazy to say that Messi works his ass off defensively.

You can also say that about C.ronaldo fans saying that C.ronaldo deserves the ballon d'or, when they have been saying for years that Messi "stole" 2 ballon d'ors, even though in one of those season Messi scored almost 30 more goals and had like 10 more assists as well as winning a title..

I don't know what you think(or any other bayern fan), but I belive that if Bayern would have a player who would score 70% of their goals, they would lose one of their greatest strenght and that is that the goals can come from anywhere..

I guess that you are saying that because C.Ronaldo has scored 66 goals, or something like that, this year. So then what about Messi scoring 91 goals last season? Isn't that "carrying" the team even more by that definition? So how can you say that "never has a player carried a top team like Ronaldo has this year"?
